After the celebrations died down from the announcement, the kingdom fell asleep.
The morning after, Nicole woke up to a tail in her face.
"Ack! What was that for?" Nicole asked.
"Payback... Good morning, my queen."
"Good morning, except its only 15 minutes after midnight."
"Well, yeah, but Happy New Years."
"You too."
After we had gotten dressed, we came outside to see Meowol holding some breakfast for us.
"Thanks, Meowol," I said, taking the breakfast.
Nicole licked her lips, "My favourite."
"You sure do know what we like, Meowol"
"It's my job to know," Meowol said.
After that, we ate our breakfast in silence, then wet to bed and fell asleep.
When we awoke, Meowol rushed in and said, "King Endor! Queen Nicole! We have a visitor!"
"Okay, Meowol," I said.
"Sarah!" called Nicole.
The little girl came in and said, "What can I do, my queen?"
"Go and talk to the visitor while we get dressed."
"Yes, ma'am," Sarah said.
With that, Sarah and Meowol left, leaving us to get dressed. After wegot dressed, we went to the enterance of the castle, seeing Sarah talking to the stranger.
The stranger looked up, then seeing us, he said, "Ahh, if it isnt King Endor and Queen Nicole? Your little one... Sarah, was it? She's been asking lots of questions. Kinda cute, actually."
"Who are you?" I asked.
"Kuro."
"What are you doing here?" Nicole asked.
"I have lived in the shadows, having such a horrible life, and then you show up magically, giving everyone a message that you will fix everyone's problems? I'd like to believe that, but I have my own problem to deal with," Kuro said.
"What is your problem?" I asked.
"I am homeless, and I barely have enough food to survive."
"We can fix that, right, Endor?" Nicole said.
"Do not worry, Kuro. We can give you a home, food, and a job... If you agree that your job will be to serve us."
"I believe that you are genuinely giving me a life, so I will take you up on that offer."
"Excellent! I will ready a room in the castle for you. Go grab any of the stuff you own, and come back here. Meowol will be waiting to show you to your room."
"Th-thank you my king..." he said in happiness, "N-no one's ever been so nice... Before you came into power, everyone thought I was a freak, for wanting to be myself... a true neko, unlike everyone else before you changed the world... I never had any love... I was abused by my parents, because they wanted a normal son... I... I... I'll go get my stuff now..." With that, he rushed off.
"That was weird... but let's prepare his room."
With a simple wish, there was an empty room for Kuro.
When Kuro got back, he had his hands full of his only bag of belongings... his carvings of cats. Meowol led Kuro to his room, and then Kuro changed to get ready to serve the king and queen.
