Welcome to the war of the frozen hour. In order to begin, you must have a character. First off, there are five different factions.
~The Resistance~
The resistance is the last bastion of humanity. They tend to lack advanced equipment and live in hidden bases or hideouts. They don't have a particular leader or hierarchy, so they rarely ever pose a serious threat to the other factions. However, they are the most desperate of the factions, and have been known to use lethal force and combustion weapons in their fight for survival.
~The Caretakers~
The Caretakers are a group of somewhat fanatical anthros who reason that the most loyal force must be raised from infancy. With this in mind, they have developed certain chemicals that, when inhaled as a gas, causes rapid regression both physically and mentally. The Caretakers then raise the newly created infants to believe wholeheartedly in their doctrine.
~The Regime~
The Regime is constantly referred to as the first aggressor. They are fairly similar to several authoritarian dictatorships that have risen and fallen in the past. They are highly militaristic and harsh, but prefer to capture enemies alive rather than kill them. Captured enemies are then used for experiments in mind hacking and physical mutations. While the entire leadership is human, the rest the Regime is made up of mutated creatures, completely brainwashed into subservience.
~The Masks~
The Masks are said to have existed in secret from before the conflict. They are skilled in deception and espionage, infiltrating other factions using their special abilities. They use masks of unknown origin to transform their physical appearance. No one but members of The Mask know their original form, making them extremely hard to track or combat.
~The Beasts~
The Beasts are a group of were-creatures that have been cast off from the rest of the factions. Their goals are to destroy all other factions and convert any apposers over to their side. While some new members are only changed in the night, many of the more integrated members have become completely transformed no matter the time of day. They base decisions off of instinct and tend to be violent, even among allies.
