Harold lay awake in his bed when his alarm clock went off. After waking from his last dream/nightmare, he had a hard time falling asleep. He really couldn't be considering replacing his wife with Virginia, was he? Yet, his mind wandered back to his dreams. Those were all scenes from his past. His wedding day with Eliza, their honeymoon night, even the birth of their first child. Yet, Eliza was replaced with Virginia each time, which really concerned him. And then there was his dream with him as a tiger and married to Virginia with a son.
He shook his head a little and got up off of the bed. He shambled to his bathroom and turned on the light. He examined his face in the mirror and noticed the red eyes and the deep dark lines under them. His face was a bit fuzzy as he had yet to shave. His hair was a bit of a mess. His face was a bit pale as well. He sighed as he braced himself for the rest of the day. Was he really all right? Did he really think of Virginia in that way? Sure, she was an attractive woman, and they had quite a bit in common with each other. But he so far hadn't considered her as a wife, much less as a mother of his children. And he certainly didn't consider becoming a were or even a weretiger. Yet, there was this dream of his. He splashed some water on his face to help wake him up before getting ready for the day.
He walked out into the hallway to see his daughter walk out at the same time. Melissa saw the state that her father was in, and put an arm on his as she looked concerned. "Dad? Are you ok?"
He sighed as he nodded his head as he replied, "Yeah, I'm fine. Let's get you to school." His terse reply made her purse her lips a little as she had doubts about his response. Her reaction made him repeat himself. "Really, I'm fine, dear. Let's go." She sighed as she followed her father out to the car. The two shared a wordless drive together as he drove her to the school, and then back home safely. As he climbed out of the car and into his home, he considered what he wanted to do. A part of him wanted to go back to bed and try to get some rest, while the other part of him wanted to get some work done. He tried to focus on his work, ignoring his lack of sleep, as he knew he had to get ready for the next semester.
