(Sorry for the EXTERMELY long absence, but don't worry! I'm back and I'm doing my best to be more active.)
While Tad and Amy were at school in Moon Lake, Tom getting ready for the day, and the Luna Brotherhood planning their "break in", Alice Stevens was outside her costume shop, unlocking the door. The key slid into the keyhole and Alice twisted it, unlocking the door with a "click!" She put the key back in her purse an opened the door, ringing the small bell above the door that signified when someone came into the store.
Alice put her things behind the cashier counter and put went to the back of the shop to turn on the lights. She weaved her way through the aisles of costumes hanging on racks until she got to the back of the store and stood near the back door. She turned on the lights and walked back up to the front of the store, flipping the sign on the door from "Closed" to "Open."
After a few minutes, she heard the sound of the door opening. Looking towards the door, Alice saw a teenage boy enter the store. He looked to be about 18 years old. "Good morning young man!" Alice said, smiling. "How can I help you?"
"I'm looking for a costume for a party," the teen said. "I was thinking of going as a journalist. Do you have any?"
"I'm pretty sure we do," Alice said to the teen. "Let me go check the shelves. Wait right here please."
Alice walked away from the counter and walked towards the back shelves of the store. Lining the shelves were plastic button up bags that had the costume and it's accessories. On the front of the bag was a picture of a human model wearing the costume, showing they buyer what the costume looked like when someone put it on.
"Let's see here..." Alice said. "Ninja, doctor, zombie...ah-ha! Here we are!" Alice took the bag from the shelf, but she quickly dropped it when she looked at the model. The costume on the model looked normal, but the model looked like...Tom. Rubbing her eyes, Alice took a second look at the model. It no longer looked like Tom. Sighing, she picked the costume back up and carried it to the counter where the teen was waiting.
"Will this do?" She asked, holding up the costume. The teen's face lit up. "Yes, that's perfect!" he said. "How much?"
"That'll be $20.15," Alice said. The teen pulled out his wallet as Alice rang him up and the two made a trade.
"Thank you!" the teen said as he exited the store. Alice sighed as soon as he left. Had she really seen Tom on the costume bag?
As the day went on, more people came into the store, and every time she swore she saw Tom. At one point, she began to daydream about a future for the two of them. She saw Tom as her handsome werefox husband, the two of them raising kids and growing to an extremely old age together. And the only way for those dreams to become a reality was for Alice to turn Tom into a werefox.
