So inwardly giggling Luke got the Black Ring on his brother by betting him he wouldn't be able to wear it for more then three hours.
They spent the afternoon and early evening watching TV together.
If Randal were turning into a dragoness,he was doing so awfully slowly.After a while Randal complained he had a headache and headed for his bedroom,closing the door behind him.
Their mother was due back late that evening,so Luke went to check on what his dad and younger sister were up to in their games room.
Both the father and daughter Ingrid were into setting up ancient
medievel battles,and as Luke walked in he could see that they had little model Viking longships set up on the Games Table,surrounding a papermache island with a castle on it.
Luke asked his dad and sister what they were up to and they explained they were re-enacting the Viking raid on Lindisfarne Island of 792Ad.
They were into Viking stuff?
So Luke asked them if they'd ever heard the name 'Regina' before.
Had they ever.
The two of them eagerly pointed to the lead Viking longboat
model,which dad referred to as a drakkar,a dragon-boat.
Luke picked it up and could see the little dragon figurehead.It was
a little too tiny to make out the details,beyond the fact whatever it was
had a lot of jaw and a lot of teeth.
Ingrid meanwhile had fished out one of their gamebook model making books
and flipped through the illustrated pages till she found what she was looking
for.

It looked like a human head but with long extended jaws,teeth flattened
nose,lots of grey wolf's fur on its face and a black scaled neck.
"The dragon Regina" said his dad " the half sister of the dwarf
Regin and his dragon cursed brother Fafnir."
Lukes heart began beating faster as a chill gripped his chest.
The two gamers explained Regina was the daughter of the World
Serpent Jormulgssen and Freya,the Asgardian goddess of pregnant women and
mothers.
And she was a blood sucker.
"I think I made a big mistake" Luke told his dad and
younger sister" I just let Randall put on a ring
called the Black Ring of Regina" he told them
"Oh" said his dad and sister together
All three rushed to Randall's room and could immediately tell something was wrong.
Vapours were flowing out into the hallway from
under the door.
And the vapours had the salty smell of the sea.
Or blood.
The door was locked.
Both Luke and his dad
said
"on a count of three,one two three" and they
both slammed their bodies against the door and busted the lock
The bedroom light was glowing brightly.
But the room was cold and darkened.
On the bed lay Randall,his nose already flattening into his face,the odd tuft of grey wolf fur sprouting on his
still human face.
And on his chest lay a huge snake,with the fanged head of a grey wolf,
with needle thin fangs puncturing Randalls neck.
The monstrous snake ,Regina,was draining Randall of his blood.
Ingrid looked about frantically and saw a Cross hanging on the wall
in the hallway and grabbed it and steading marched toward the bloodsucking vampire dragoness,brandishing
the Cross.
The snake ignored her ( not being a Christian) and kept feeding from her
food.
"Crunch stretch squelch"
Randalls ears began to lengthen as at the same time his fingernails were pushed aside as
black talons pushed their way out of his fingertips.
He was turning into a bloodsucker himself,and was in a deep sleep.
Ingrid looked desperately about for something that might drive this norse vampire away from her brothers neck.
