As tempting as the Mythical, Extinct, and Horror sections are, Noah decides he should start with something more familiar. "I'll see what I can find among the domesticated animals."
Missie nodded and smiled. "Any of them will be quite pleased to be your partner. Any of them at all." She walked with him to the start of the section but stopped there. "As you might guess, they tend to get a little nervous with predators around. I'll stay here. No matter what happens, you are perfectly safe. Even if you get stuck with a long-term commitment, I will make sure everything is taken care of here until you can make it back."
"Make it back? I do not plan on going anywhere." Noah was puzzled. "And I am not ready for any commitments."
"It depends on what you choose to partner with. A mare could make you a stallion or a foal, a one-night stand or months of growing up. A ram could make you a pregnant sheep with months of carrying and weaning lambs. You can be a dog, a goat, a bull, even a llama. And you will find the enclosures are also magical. Once you enter a holding area, you will find that it is really another place suited for the animal you chose."
"Wow! That sounds amazing!" Noah had vague memories from his childhood that he had thought were wild dreams before. Had he really been a chimpanzee in the jungle? A boa constrictor in the Amazon? Those memories were getting clearer.
He headed down the path, and found many different domesticated animals that stopped to stare and then move closer. They all looked friendly, happy to see him. But which one did he want to have as his first animal partner? At least, since he had been a boy.
