You follow Master Harauphar through the woods, thinking while you walk. This definently was a change, the question being whether or not it's a good or bad change. You figured that by now you couldn't really go back to your world, but was that bad? Your old life was like your Master, simply neutral. You had above average grades and some good friends but you also had a pair of incompetent parents who couldn't do anything other than drink until the night ends. Master Harauphar seems decent enough but now you had paws instead of hands and you barely reached over two feet!
You shake your head, clearing away your thought. What's done is done, all you can do now is make sure Master Harauphar died a natural death and then you'll be free to follow your own path for all of eternity!
You both walked in silence for several minutes, all around you, you could feel the presence of other living beings near you. The animals, the trees, the insects. It was almost like a sixith sense, if you concentrated hard enough they would almost seem to glow, this glow you assumed to be a living being's soul. The rabbits glew with a pure white while the trees were a light green, however the most interesting was that of your Master. His soul was deep and ominous, a mixture of greens and blacks that almost seemed to swirl and form intricate patterns.
You knew that his soul was filled to the brim with arcane power, but alas his soul is not on the menu. You stop your concentration and the glowing fades away, returning to your regular vision which seemed much sharper than when you were a human.
Finally, both Master And Familiar found themselves on a overgrown gravel road. The trees here were much more twisted and contorted and you could feel dark magic in the air, almost corrupting the living things here with dark magic.
You figured a mage of light would feel weakened here, but as a soul eating beast yourself, it was actually quite homely.
Ahead of you and Master, you see the twinkling light of a lantern and several wooden structures ahead. You both arrive upon a rickety wooden gate of a large cottage. In the front yard were several buildings and structures like a mossy stone well along with a tanning rack and drying rack.
You follow Master Harauphar to the door where he stops and looks at you, his green eyes showing several whispers of power as he looks at you.
"Wraith, as of now, this cottage is your new home. It may not seem like much but I have created several magical wards and enchantments around the area that you will shortly notice. Only those who I approve of may enter my cottage without being fatally harmed so be warned if you ever happen to bring home a friend, which to be fair, is unlikely."
"Thank you for your generosity Master Haraupgar, upon entering this place I had noticed an intense dark aura, is this really your work alone? It seems quite powerful indeed." You ask, curious to the answer.
Master Harauphar nods approvingly at your response making you wonder if you are being tested by your Master.
"It is good to hear that you are already tapping into your new abilities, note that as of now your are only a novice and that in kitsune years you are barely a child so you still have much to learn. I will admit that I alone did not create all of these enchantments you sense, my lord has many Warlocks under his service and some of them had aided me in creating these wards. Only a extremely powerful Make could enter here by themselves." He replies causally.
Master Harauphar opens the door, entering the cottage and leaving enough room for you to enter yourself.
The inside of the cottage was much more luxurious than you had originally believed. Fine silk tapestries decorated the wall and the furniture seemed to have been made by a master. What caught your eye the most was a large bookshelf in the corner of the room which had a dozen or so books in. While most of them were of regular stories, other seemed to have a focus on magical arts and contents.
History of The Seven Demonic Rings
Artifacts Of The Fey
How To Train Your Familiar
The Creation of Animus
The Gods And Their Religions
These books were a couple of the ones you had taken an interest with but you ignored them for now and looked to your Master.
"Now, I will be within my personal room for the moment, if I will require your assistance then I will let you know. For now simply familiarize yourself with the cottage, also we also have a skeletal servant named Wortox that should be cooking our afternoon meal as of now, be sure to introduce yourself to him as well." Master Harauphar says and walks off into another room, closing the door behind him.
