As Henry Jenkins, Senior made his way back to the ICU Waiting Room of Moon Lake Hospital, he noticed an Oriental woman leading two teenagers down the hall.
"Mrs. Tachibana, right?" he asked, greeting the adult.
"Yes Mister Jenkins," replied the leader of the Skulk, while giving him a brief but formal bow. "How are you?"
"I could be better, but under the circumstances, good. We've been told that Huck is going to make a full recovery and he just proposed to his friend Betty Timid."
"Really?" asked Akane.
"Yes. They've known each other for years as friends, but I guess it took something traumatic like almost losing him for those two to finally realize how they actually feel about each other," assumed Henry.
"Congratulations. When's the wedding?" asked Akane.
"Not sure yet. Huck can only have one visitor in ICU at a time, so right now it's still Betty."
"Well I wish you and your family all the best. But where are my manners. This is my granddaughter Megumi, and her friend Melissa Jenkins," said Akane, introducing the two teenagers with her.
"Jenkins?" repeated Melissa, looking at the older man.
"Yes. I've already met your father. Having two Jenkins here right now has been causing a bit of confusion among the staff," revealed Henry.
"How is he?" asked Melissa.
"Fine. Nice fellow. Apparently we're not directly related, but who knows for sure? But if you don't mind an old man butting in, I would like to give you two pieces of advice," offered Henry.
"What are they?" asked Melissa, being polite.
"One. When or if you do decide to become a were, regardless of what species it is, I've heard love is always the best reason to join."
"I totally agree," said Melissa, thinking of Trevor Tyson. "And the other?"
"Whoever this Virginia McCoy is, I've got a strong suspicion she's your father's happily forever after, if you know what I mean."
"I do," said Melissa with a smile. "Been trying to get them together since they first met, but it's been... difficult."
"I understand," said Henry, "but after my brief chat with him, I think you'll find your dad a lot more open to the idea now."
"Really?" said Melissa in disbelief. "Well, I better go see him. It was nice meeting you Mister Jenkins."
"And you too Miss Jenkins," replied Henry.
But as they started to part company, Tachibana no Akane stopped him long enough to say, "If not tonight, I will contact you sometime tomorrow to go over the final arrangements for Harry's wedding to Jenny Saturday morning."
"Looking forward to it," replied Henry, before they went their separate ways.
