Jake was a fairly quiet guy, and while he did have a handful of friends he hung out with, he wasn't particularly close with anyone. This wasn't something he particularly resented, and he spent a lot of time inside his own head, entertaining himself with his own fantasies. However, this didn't mean that he wasn't curious about what it might be like to have a group you just click with, somewhere you belonged.
Today Jake was going to satisfy that curiosity. He decided that the best time to find his "victim" would be during lunch, when all the school's cliques would be on display for him like caramels at a candy store.
His morning classes seemed to drag on and on and he was just dying for the lunch bell to ring. Finally, as his physics teacher wrapped up her lecture about thermodynamics, the lunch bell rang and Jake nearly sprinted out of the classroom and to the nearest restroom. Inside, he went into one of the stalls and visualized his ghostly form just as he had that morning. As soon as he felt the lightness of non-corporeality he phased through the walls and floated over to the cafeteria.
The cafeteria was a massive room with a high ceiling. There the different groups of students sat, almost as if they'd been organized that way, each confined to their own table. Jake rose almost to the top and from there surveyed his options; it felt like being at an all you could eat buffet. After some thought, he made a decision as to who to possess.
