Delicately perserved in a tube of conserving gel, was a rolled up map. You had some trouble taking it out with your paws but as you opened it up, was a large map revealing a massive landscape.
The main discernible features was a lake with a island in the incredibly specific shape of a holy cross and what seemed to be a small town with ruins some distance north of it.
On the very corner, written in small cursive writing said
"The Soul Of Corruption Is Here. Find The Golden Eye And Strike The Betrayer's Heart."
Soul of Corruption? What was that? Who is the Betrayer and what is the Golden Eye? Is it an actual eye? Or perhaps it is the name of some artifact or treasure? aWas this a treasure map? Who wrote this, why was it here. All these questions filled your mind up yet the only thing that you could piece together is that the "Soul Of Corruption" must be linked with the infection that had occurred here. Perhaps the man that became the Hivemind was the owner of this map?
Questions for another time you thought solemnly. You manage to somehow roll the map back up and place it back in it's preservation tube. Grabbing the tub with your mouth you run off back to your Masters Cottage. It was getting late. If you didn't hurry soon Master Harauphar would likely become suspicious or worried.
After several soul snackings and several hours of running you finally manage to make it back before midnight. The moon was already high up in the sky and the sun was below the horizon by the time you saw the flickering lights of the cottage.
You were about to crawl through the familiar rabbit hole and go inside when a thought crossed your mind. Should you tell Master Harauphar what happened? If you told him, chances were he could potentially become angered at both your late arrival and your actions for not returning after discovering the fungal corruption.
Not to mention the map you found. Perhaps there could be treasure to be gained from this, perhaps even an explanation to what the corruption is. Your Master would surely want to know... yet for some reason something kept telling you to keep it a secret. Your mind told you about your duties as Master Harauphar's familiar yet... you wanted to have at least one secret from him. Just one.
