After the students, and their teacher, had all been given their keys, the cartoon characters manning the hotel sat around looking at each other.
"So, how long?" Asked the Cheetah bust-boy after zipping up their luggage to their room.
"How long? Don't you mean how many?" Asked the mouse who was on shift for the counter, he was a foot tall, not counting his tail.
"I'm guessing all of them." Charlie the Cheetah replied.
"If you ask me," said the lion checking the books and for once not checking out the cat-girl and foxy maids the hotel employed. "I'd say the teacher will get away Scott-free, they're here just so the students could be here."
"Are you so sure it'll happen?" Larry The Mouse asked.
"Oh it will," Mac The Lion pushed up on his glasses, a sign he was smart of course. "These kids have been chosen by The Plot, doesn't happen to every tourist or we wouldn't have a business, but you can tell, The Plot had chosen them."
"Exactly," Charlie said swishing his tail, grinning. "It's just a matter who goes first, and how long it takes for the lot of them. They're all gonna be 100% Permanent Toons before the vacations over, they'll likely star in their own 'slice of life teenage' show or something, those are more popular than they used to be. They might even make it to Syndication."
Larry and Mac were impressed Charlie figured they'd reach that lofty perch.
"So guys," Charlie continued. "We gonna place bets or not? Whose gonna be first? Whose gonna be last? Come on."
"I'm guessing the jocks, swimmers, or the alpha girls go first," sad Mac. "The others will go last since their roles will be harder to pin down, and not following any vices or the like karma is less like to hit them first."
"I'd say that's why they'll be last, being Tooned is a gift." Charlie said.
"We'll see." Larry added.
