The lone observer swore as he heard a man from Frederick Parker’s camping spot slowly approach. Watching the bossman get piss drunk earlier and then overhearing one of the men that backup was coming to help bust Daniel Parker out of jail come morning. Shutting his walkie off so as not to have the man approaching zero in on where he is hiding; the lone observer quickly looks around for something to help his current situation. Spying a small stone, he grabs it and gives it a wild toss near to where the cars are parked.
A loud smack on metal could be heard and a car alarm going off, forcing one of Freddie’s men to stop searching where he heard a twig snapping and to go over and investigate what set off the alarm. The lone observer sighs as he crawls away from the area; listening to the remaining men argue.
“What happened,” the assistant looking at the man.
“Something set off the car alarm,” one man responds.
“I know that,” the assistant responding; what was it?”
“Dammed if I know,” the man snapping back; “first you tell me to check out some twig snapping and now the car up and decides to make noise.”
“Well silence it,” the assistant ordering; “the boss may be stone dead drunk, but that doesn’t mean he might not wake up and start dishing out knuckle sandwiches.”

Sheriff Cooper was on his way to the police station; after getting an emergency call from a deputy about a tip detailing a planned jail break.
“Not in my town,” Sheriff Cooper growling; “no two-bit thug is going to put one over on me.”
Pulling into the police station parking lot; Sheriff Cooper notices Agent Reed already waiting. Jumping out of his car as he heads inside, being joined by the waiting FBI agent.
“Have you been briefed,” Sheriff Cooper commenting.
“I got a call telling me to get over here,” Agent Reed responding; “a tip about a jail break tomorrow morning?”
“Credible or not,” Sheriff Cooper grousing; “I’m not taking any chances. Daniel Parker gets transferred to Seattle tonight.”
“Well your D.A signed off on the extradition papers,” Agent Reed answering; “all I’m waiting for is backup to escort Daniel back to San Francisco. Soonest is Tuesday unfortunately.”
“Jack Johnson didn’t give you any static when presented with your request,” Sheriff Cooper at the cell lockup.
“Nope,” Agent Reed responding; “in fact he seemed glad to pass off Daniel Parker to the feds. I’m still worried what will happen when Leon Talbot and his family will find out that the charges against Daniel are being stayed.”
“Something they will find out come Tuesday,” Sheriff Cooper approaching Daniel’s cell and looking at the sullen man; “hopefully by then this little shit stain will be on a plane back to San-Francisco.”
“Like hell,” Daniel Parker responding with a rude gesture; “my lawyer will see to it that any attempt to move me to another jurisdiction will be delayed.”
“So your father can gather the men needed to bust you out,” Agent Reed looking at the man displaying false bravado; “we already know he is planning to bust you out in the morning.”
“Which is why,” Sheriff Cooper unlocking the cell and giving Daniel a menacing stare; “you are leaving tonight.”
Daniel Parker was shocked at what he heard. He knew his father was planning to bust him out, but Daniel was told to keep tight until Tuesday. Seeing the Sheriff quickly approach him; Daniel was soon treated to the sheriff’s version of southern hospitality with a vicious left hook knocking him out cold.
“Was that necessary Sheriff,” Agent Reed looking at the unconscious man.
“As far as I’m concerned,” Sheriff Cooper grinning as he picked up the man like a sack of potatoes; “Daniel Parker walked into a door.”
“Well at least transporting him will be a quiet affair for a few hours,” Agent Reed shaking her head.
While Sheriff Cooper was able to easily explain to his deputies that he was transporting the unconscious prisoner to Seattle; seeing state trooper Eugene Talbot sitting on a desk waiting for him was unexpected.
“Sheriff Cooper,” Eugene speaking; “we need to talk.”
“If it is about Frederick Parker planning to break out Daniel Parker here,” Sheriff Cooper speaking; “I already know.”
“It’s not that,” Eugene looking surprised at wht he heard; “it’s about my uncle. He has at Regina’s request begun attacking Frederick’s men.”
“What,” Sheriff Cooper dropping Daniel; “why haven’t I heard of any homicides or assaults over the radio?”
“Because I was able to convince my uncle,” Eugene stating; “that I would arrest him if he ordered the pride to kill any of the men. Instead,” Eugene shaking his head; “king uncle has been abducting Frederick’s men and dropping them off in the middle of the woods near the border stark naked.”
Sheriff Cooper couldn’t resist a good laugh upon hearing that; “funny. I can see it now, wanted and naked criminals running into the arms of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.”
“Provided they get past the border guards,” Eugene shaking his head; “I’m hoping you can get my uncle to knock this all off before some one gets killed. My father for one," Eugene looking at the sheriff; "he, my brother and a few cousins are the ones doing the abducting.”
“Why can’t you get your uncle to do that,” Agent Reed checking Daniel Parker.
“Because I am now on the outs with king uncle,” Eugene looking at the FBI agent; “for questioning his orders and threatening him if he didn’t change them.”
“Can’t help you there,” Sheriff Cooper answering; “but Agent Reed hear needs help bringing Daniel Parker to Seattle.”
“Is he not facing charges for aggravated attempted murder,” Eugene asking; "as well as a host of others?"
“Those charges are being stayed,” Agent Reed producing her extradition papers; “Daniel Parker will be given a choice once he reaches the Seattle field office. Co-operate in our RICO case against Frederick Parker, or face the charges he committed here in federal court.”
Eugene was silent for a moment before he got off the desk he was sitting on.
“If Frederick Parker is intent on breaking Daniel out,” Eugene helping up the unconscious prisoner; “then he will most likely have someone keeping an eye out on the highway to see if any cruiser with Moon Lake on it leaves for Seattle.”
“What are you suggesting,” Sheriff Cooper looking at the state trooper.
“Transport Daniel here in the trunk of my car,” Eugene speaking up; “and to keep Frederick’s spies from suspecting anything, have Agent Reed sit in the back seat of my car as a prisoner.”
“And you round up every able body deputy you have,” Agent Reed looking at the Sheriff; “and set up a trap for Frederick and his men if /when they come.”
"As well as my uncle Sheriff," Eugene stating; "Leon will no doubt find out about this break out and do what he can to stop it, or bust in here and kill Daniel."
Great," Sheriff Cooper growls; "as if this couldn't get any worse."
