Tom quickly got out of his bed and opened his closet, grabbing whatever clothing would match and be warm enough for the night. Once he was dressed, Tom rushed into the living room of his apartment, grabbed his keys off the coffee table, left his apartment, locking it behind him, and rushing down the hall as quickly and as quietly as possible, as there were people sleeping.
Tom left the building and went into the parking lot, going to his car and starting it up. He drove out of the parking lot and onto the main road, driving as fast as he could to Alice Steven's house. The dream he had really made him rethink everything he'd said. While he didn't want Alice to live in hiding, he couldn't let her get taken away by the government. If weres were exposed, she needed someone to protect her.
Tom pulled into Alice's driveway and got out of is car as quickly as possible. He rushed up to her front door and rang the doorbell. "Come on, come on!" he said to himself. "Please open the door!" A few seconds later, the door opened, and a groggy Alice Stevens stood in the door. "Tom?" she asked, yawning. "What are you doing here so late?"
"I'm sorry to wake you, but I need to tell you something," he said. "I didn't think about it until I had a terrible nightmare where I lost you. Alice Stevens, I love you with all my heart, and I never want to leave your side until we both die. You trusted me with the safety of not just yourself, but all the weres in the world, all because you love me. If something happened to you because of me trying to get the truth out, then I'd never forgive myself."
Alice's eyes widened as she listened to what Tom was saying. "Does this mean-?"
"Yes," Tom said. "I've made my decision: I want to be your werefox."
