You sleep heavily through most of the night.
At some point, you are dreaming that you live with your family in a high-rise apartment. Everything seems to be going ordinarily enough for a while, and your mother is in the kitchen, making dinner, it being her turn to cook. However, at some point, your mother realizes that she has gotten the wrong broth for what she had in mind, so she asks you to go to the store to exchange it.

Desperately, you try to open your wings, but it feels like they must be pinned to your sides. Again, you tumble helplessly through the air, trying to figure out how your wings work before it's too late. You feel a painful wrenching in your chest as they pop open at the last instant from the force of the wind, and then what could be either a tree or a giant hand comes up and swats you out of the sky.
And then your mother...or somebody...gives your shoulder a shake and gently urges you to come and eat.
You awaken nose-to-nose with the same nightmare visage from your dream, and you...
