All the candles lighting the room have been blown out. Smoke still wafts away from the wicks but the candles & the rest of the furniture is covered in cobwebs. Bits of the wallpaper is torn from the wall and some of the portraits are completely covered in dust. The fireplace looks like it hasn't been lit in years but it just was. You know what you remember but everything in this room looks super old, untouched, and definitely creepy. To complete the haunted house vibe, a storm starts brewing outside and you can hear the wind start to pick up. You feel a sharp pain in your head as a voice slithers through your mind.
"Hey little puppy dog, how are you feeling?" It's the strange lady from before and she sounds like she playing with you. You spin around frantically to find her but she isn't there. "Come now, puppy dog. You know I'm not really there. But if you can find me, you'll be free."
"What kind of game are you playing lady? Let me out!" You shout into the darkness, but no reply. Your headache starts to get worse and now you can start to feel your heart beat in your chest. "I've gotta get out of here though." You stumble around the room searching for any clue, but you need to find her to get to out. So you stop and try to clear your head of the pain for one moment to think. Suddenly you smell something. A fire... and... and... chicken? "Well it's better than nothing."
You follow the scent out of the room and back to the grand staircase in the main entrance. You smell the room, ignoring how stupid it feels to sniff the air, and find the smell continue up the steps. You slowly climb the steps and you can hear the storm grow more violent outside as thunder starts crashing and the old house creaks under the strong winds. Halfway up the stairs, another surge of pain hits your head, but this time the pain seeps down into the rest of your body. You keep following the scent until your senses are totally numb to the pain. But luckily for you, your nose has lead you to a single door. You reach to open it but you collapse, buresting into the room and collapsing on the floor. You wearily lift your head to look around but your vision has gone to blurry to make out too many details. But you recognize the woman from before sitting in a lone chair next to a giant window that reaches all the way up to the twenty foot ceilings. The room should be too dark to see because you cam't see any candles or lights anywhere and the storm is covering up the stars from outside, but somehow you manage to see. And hear as the woman slinks off her chair and practically floats over to you.
"Well congratulations. You found me."
You try to mutter out "Now let me leave" but your throat feels too dry and out of breath to form words so all you do is grunt roughly. The woman clicks her tongue in disapproval. "Don't bother speaking. We'll have plenty to discuss later, my love." The mysterious woman steps closer and crouches down next to me. She picks up your head, to weak from the pain to fight back and lifts it to look out the window. "It's such a lovely night out don't you agree?" You can't see anything because of the storm clouds blocking the landscape. "I know, I know. Just give it a minute." 'This lady is crazy' you think but then a small white spot appears in the window. It's glow helps light up the room. "Yes, it's starting." The woman says before kissing your cheek and sitting back down in her chair near the window. The glowing spot grows and grows as the clouds start to part. The headache almost starts to fade before a beam of light from outside touches you, causing your whole body to writhe in pain. The light spreads until the full moon's presence is spread across the room.
However, once the last inch of your body is covered in the moonlight, you feel nothing.
No noise...
No touch...
No smell...
All you see and feel is the soothing bright light of the moon, until you slowly drift away to sleep, with the strange woman anxiously waiting for you to wake.
