Moon Lake, Andersons: Keeping our fingers crossed

added by The Masked Writer 6 years ago O

Samantha Twist hung up her cellphone after talking to her wife Frances after the professional therapist's latest session with Jennifer Harper*.
The Town Chancellor was about to ask that the meeting between her, Police Chief O'Hara, and Tachibana no Akane representing the Skulk resume, when her cellphone went off again.
This time, it was Ted and Marci Green, wanting to let Samantha know about their impending trip to Moon Lake so that Ted could finally join were society and be with his wife completely, despite the fact that the airline had screwed up their reservations and the happy couple would be arriving later that night, instead of Friday night as originally planned.**

When Samantha finished her second phone call, she turned to the assemblage and said, "So, do you think it would be a good idea to have Agent Green see if he could discreetly bring the FBI into our situation concerning Dieter Wilhelm? After all, the man is in Alabama right now ordering all this mess against Harry Jenkins in hopes of claiming Jenny Harper. There's got to be some federal regulations since we're talking multiple state lines between there and Washington."
"I asked the District Attorney about that over the phone this morning myself," began Chief O'Hara, "although I wasn't aware that Agent Green and his wife were coming."
"Yes, I have to find either a weretigress or a werelioness by tonight. Since Marci Green is a werecat, he's narrowed his choice down to those two felines so they can still have children," explained Samantha.
"Our scientists still have yet to figure out why werecats and their male counterparts are all either bi or outright gay," admitted Tachibana, "but that is a discussion for another time. We should continue with the matter at hand," she suggested.
"Anyway, my conversation with the DA was short because he was due in court," said the police chief, "but he suggested that if we can actually catch Wilhelm red handed about to commit a crime here in Moon Lake, we can then proceed to prosecute every charge we're planning to level against him locally without bringing in outside agencies."
"While that would definitely be the most desirable course of action, we also have to take into account that not only is Wilhelm bringing yet another henchman with him, but I'm sure he's got some fancy ass lawyer on speed dial ready to spring him at a moment's notice," assumed Samantha.
"None of us want the secrets of Moon Lake to become public before the public is actually ready to hear and accept them, whenever that might be," began Tachibana, in her 'wise sage' voice. "None of us also do not want to see Dieter Wilhelm escape justice either. It is a tricky tightrope we must be prepared to cross."

"What if we stop his vehicle at the town limits, arrest Wilhelm on sight, and send the Harpers and his other henchman packing back to Seattle as undesirables?" suggested Samantha.
"A nice thought, but impractical on several points of law," admitted O'Hara.
"Besides, both your wife and Jennifer are concerned for her younger siblings*," Tachibana reminded her.
"Yeah, so I guess it's back to what we were already discussing and let Wilhelm into the church long enough to do something stupid that we can arrest him on and add that to all the other charges we're leveling against him to avoid bringing outside attention into the matter," realized Samantha.
"Dealing with Dieter Wilhelm will be an issue unto itself, but Miss Harper must also face her fears concerning her family, especially her father," pointed out Tachibana.
"That's in Frances and Jenny's paws," replied Samantha.

"Well, we'll have plenty of help as it is between the Skulk and some of Leon Talbot's lions volunteering because Jenny's roommate Karen Yuletide is dating his son Peter," observed Chief O'Hara, as his desk phone rang.
"That will give Jennifer plenty of additional moral support," commented Tachibana, before O'Hara put his hand over the mouthpiece and addressed the ladies.
"You won't believe this, but I have Austin Perry on the phone. He says your son and Nathaniel Anderson have suggested wolf volunteers Saturday morning at the church," he told Samantha. "If we want them, he'll see how many he can round up from his pack between now and then."
"Considering the police are also investigating that situation between the other Harold Jenkins and those two ladies***, which my granddaughter Megumi has requested Skulk assistance in as well, perhaps you should take him up on his generous offer," suggested Tachibana.
"Adults only," said Samantha, thinking of her son and Nate since they were both technically minors, "but otherwise the more the merrier."
