“Okay, I will. How do we do that?” Jeff asked.
“Just climb on the base of my neck and hold on my spikes. You will be very stable and won’t fall.” Mary said.
“Can you hunt at night?”
“We dragons have a very good night vision. I can see now as if it was a bright sunny day.”
Then Jeff climbed Mary as she said, still a little afraid of her now. What would happen if he had poured the entire vial in her mouth? When he was positioned, Mary opened her wings and lift off. Jeff felt her muscles working under her skin and saw her flying just above the trees.
It was just a little later that she located a deer in the forest. Without any warnings, Mary threw flames over it and killed the deer almost instantly. Then she landed at its side. The ground was radiating the heat of her flames and the deer was charred and dead on the ground. Mary sliced the deer with her claws and ate it in just two bites.
“This one was good, but I am no near being full!” Mary said while licking the blood from her face.
“How much do you need to eat now that you are a dragon?”
“We dragons can feast with six or seven animals of that size but we can be enough fed with just two or three. Then we can rest and do something else for a while.” Mary explained.
“I think I can make company to you while you hunt, but I don’t know if I like seeing you eating whole animals just like now. Don’t you feel appealing some properly prepared meal anymore?”
“I am a dragon now! I don’t prepare my meals. I just hunt and eat anything I want.”
“Do you have any feelings towards eating humans?” Jeff asked.
“Even if it is easy to hunt and eat humans, I wouldn’t do that. I know I was human before and that I will be human tomorrow, just after lunch. I am not stupid enough to fight humans as I am now. There is no good side on this.”
“That’s good to know. I think your mind changed a lot. I wonder what would happen if you had drank the entire vial.” Jeff said.
“We dragons are intelligent beings. If I drank that entire vial, I wouldn’t become evil, I would only be more of a dragon. I would isolate myself on a remote place and just hunt and try to find some other dragon to mate. I wouldn’t stay with your nor would love you anymore. As I am now, I still love you.”
“I liked it. I love you too.”
Then Mary raised her head and listened. Just a few seconds later, she jumped to the side throwing flames on another deer that was passing by. She landed over it and her claws sliced the defenseless animal. Then she ate it quickly.
“Wow! That was fast.” Jeff exclaimed.
