The end of the tunnel appears, its opening so bright you can't see what is beyond. But you can smell rich scents of corn, earth, sweat, urine, and other things in the warm light. You continue through without hesitating, and suddenly find yourself in a huge field of corn! It occurs to you that there is something very large between your eyes, and vision is odd - distorted and drained of most color.
Twisting your massive head around, you discover several things at once. You are a huge Clydesdale draft horse, probably golden brown and white, and you are hitched to a large wagon that is half-full of corn. It looks like a whole family is working the field around you, picking the ears by hand and throwing them into the wagon.
You are an animal! You should be upset, but it feels perfectly normal to you. The flies in your nose and ears, the pull of the harness, the sense of mass and power combined with a general contentment. The warm sun feels very good, and you only have to walk a few steps every now and then to keep up with the family.
They are talking to each other, and one of them occasionally brings you a small ear of corn to nibble on. It is very sweet and crisp, and you enjoy it very much. You don't really notice right away, but after a while, you realize that you don't understand a word they are saying. Is it a foreign language? They look like old-fashioned American farmers.
