"So that's the story folks. Austin offered the pack's services at the Harper/Jenkins wedding and the mayor's office accepted, with the provision that it'd be adult volunteers only," explained Ben Twist, as he was driving everyone home.
"Wow!" said Nate Anderson, while sitting in the front seat.
"Yeah man. Don't like the fact we're excluded, but from what little I've heard about the situation, that guy trying to ruin the wedding needs a serious ass kicking," comment Nate's boyfriend Alex Ramsey, sitting in the back behind his lover.
"Despite the fact that my father is the mayor, I'm not supposed to know as much as I do, but that's definitely no way to treat a lady," added Julie Stovall, while her fiance and Nate's younger brother Eric held her closer to him.
"Well, in any event, the whole situation is in good paws now between the town, the police, the pack, and from what I hear, maybe even one of the local lion prides," said Ben Twist, as he pulled into his driveway.
"How did they get involved?" wondered Nate, waiting for the car to come to a complete stop and Ben shutting down the engine before unbuckling his seat belt.
"If I've heard right, the bride's maid is dating Peter Talbot," answered Ben, as everyone started to get out. Then his cellphone rang.
Pulling it up on the over sized lanyard from around his neck, Ben checked caller ID and answered. "Yeah mom?"
"Are you home?" asked Samantha Twist.
"Just got here. Everything okay?" asked Ben in return.
"Fine. I just need a favor. Can you make sure the guest bedroom is ready for occupancy tonight?*" requested Samantha.
"Sure. No problem. Anything else?"
"No. That's it. Frances and I should be home around the usual time, with our guests coming later," said his mother.
Guests? As in more than one, huh? "Okay. I'll do that before I start my homework. Catch you later," said Ben, before the call ended.
Then he turned to his friends and said, "Text me with ride needs before breakfast in the morning. Otherwise, I'll see you then," before Ben went to enter his house. Depending upon who's coming and why, I wonder if I can still see Kenya tonight?
Once it was just the Anderson brothers and their respective mates...
"Okay, I hate to leave you unchaperoned, but I promised Alex we'd do homework today at his house," began Nate, seeing that there was no car in their driveway yet.
"Besides, for some reason, my mom wants to talk to Nate about this weekend," added Alex, much to his boyfriend's surprise.
"Don't worry," began Eric. "We'll be all right. Ben's next door and you'll just be on the other side of the hill behind us," he added, while opening the front door to their house.
"Besides, I'll make sure Eric stays out of trouble," promised Julie with a smile.
"Have fun you two," said Eric, before closing and locking the front door behind him.
Alone inside the house, Eric and Julie held each other close and kissed.
"So," began Eric, while playfully running his fingers through Julie's blonde hair, "what would you like to do first?"
Julie just smiled and asked, "If we don't linger, how about a little stress relief before homework?"
"I love you, and the way you think my jewel," said Eric, before moving in for a passionate kiss.
If you didn't know the secret of Moon Lake, one would wonder why so many residential properties were unfenced. That was because weres liked to roam free whenever possible, but respected each others property and privacy.
As Nate and Alex walked behind the Anderson house to head over the hill to the Ramsey residence, Nate asked, "Any idea exactly why your mom wants to talk to me?"
"Other than it has something to do with this weekend, I have absolutely no idea," admitted his boyfriend, "but don't worry Stud, you're cool with them and me," added Alex, before giving Nate a quick peck on the cheek.
MEANWHILE...
Martha Anderson followed Coach Katherine "Kat" Johnson back to her apartment in the Anderson family car.
"As long as I'm home in time to fix dinner..." was the guideline, and Kat would honor her lover's request, but the weretigress still secretly wished that the werecat following her was coming from work home to their place, and not just visiting for a brief rendezvous.
"Maybe someday..." Kat said to herself, as her car pulled into the apartment complex parking lot.
