"Hanna, come take a look at this." Max was looking at an advertisement in the thursday newspaper. The ad was asking for test subjects.
Hanna walked into the apartment kitchen, where Max was sitting in a small chair behind the table on which both always ate breakfast together. Usually that was the only time of the day their ways would cross. The main cause of it was because Max was studying rights and was working on a project with four other people, because of which she stayed at the university up until it was almost night time. Hanna on the other hand didn't have a busy schedule each day. She had to get up early because she already had a full-time job at a famous fashion store in the middle of the town. After which she either went home early or went out with some of her friends. Ignoring these things however, Max and Hanna got along with each other well.
"Are you still looking for a job? How many appointments have you failed to make already?" Hanna was frowning when she took a look at the advertisement Max held in front of her. "Test subjects wanted? Are you sure you want this?" Hanna looked at Max, who, to her surprise looked very passionate about it. "No Max, seriously." Hanna brought her eyes to the ad again, reading a bit better. "Do you see it now," Max said, "it is a thousand bucks for just a few tests!" Hanna read the ad again, a little more careful, and then faced her roommate again. "That is a lot! More than I'm earning in 2 months or so!" Hanna replied.
"Yes!" Max answered, "what's also nice, is that the place we need to go to is just a 20 minutes long drive with your car." "Oh," Hanna said, "so that's why you wanted to tell me this." Max then shook her head in disagreement. "Actually, I wanted you to come with me, I wouldn't like it on my own you know."
"Personally, I want to have that paid to me as well. But, are you sure it's safe?" Hanna was more of a careful type. Where Max would've gone all in at a poker match, Hanna would have quit the game before it even started. "Honestly Han," Max then said "there probably are some limits towards science, it really wouldn't hurt to try."
Hanna thought about it for a bit and then nodded. "You know what? It indeed wouldn't hurt to try, when is it available?" Max answered her question, "We can just go there and register ourselves there. But let's just wait until tomorrow afternoon. I need to help out 2 of my partners in the project."
Thus, they would head for the research facility the next day...
