"Well, it seems like nothing happened." The fifteen minutes had passes. Max and Hanna looked up from the magazines they were reading -you know, those you find in any waiting room- and saw the tall professor peeking into the room while he said that. "I already saw that coming, otherwise I wouldn't have let you wait in this room. You'd be put into quarantine if something actually happened, we don't want some strange virus to escape or some mutation to happen you know."
"But now that it's not the case, we can just leave right?" Max, who asked, was feeling kind of nervous, and Hanna had been experiencing nausea and a tingly feeling in her belly for a while now. Hanna looked at Max, surprised. Max was barely ever this tense, something must've happened to her.
"Well, yeah. I said so right? Didn't you listen? Not even to my incredibly short explanation?" The tall man was scratching his head, causing his grey-brownish hair to look much messier than it already was. "Anyway, you can walk towards the exit, my secretary will write you a cheque and you may leave afterwards. Now if you excuse me, I'm going to fix some of the machine's problems. Have a nice day."
Max and Hanna stood up at the same time and headed out of the waiting room, going in the opposite direction of where the professor was heading. The secretary already saw them coming and smiled. "I've written down the cheques for you. These can be handed in at your local bank without any problems. Have a nice day."
As Max and Hanna exited the building, they gave each other a worried look. Without saying a word after that, they sat themselves down in the car seats and drove back to their apartment.
Half an hour later they were back at the apartment in which they lived. As Hanna turned the key to their apartment, Max finally managed to talk to Hanna again. "I am really sorry if you feel like I forced you to come with me, after a while I also became really nervous." Hanna shook her head. "Max, really, don't sweat it. We got what we wanted remember?" Hanna said showing her smile to Max. Because of that, Max took a breath of relief. "I'm still sorry. I don't feel well at the moment."
"That's probably the adrenaline Max. I felt that too, but I'm going to sleep now." Max looked at Hanna, "You're not going to shower first? Ah you know what, nevermind. I feel tired as well, I'll do it tomorrow. How late do you have to get up Han?" "I don't really have a time. I'm free on saturday remember?"
Max took a glare at their bedroom behind her. They only had 3 rooms in the apartment, a living room, with the kitchen connected to it, a bathroom and the bedroom they both slept in. "Well," Max then continued, "I have to get up early still."
Then Max and Hanna put on their pyjamas and once they were ready for bed, Max dimmed the light.
Goodnight...
