Colin grabbed the sledgehammer marked bag and saw it was full of tools.
"To take that pack means you have chosen to partake in a massive undertaking." Donavan said.
"What kind of undertaking?" Colin said.
Donavan pulled up a bunch of architectural plans.
"Lending muscle to the construction of the first city constructed specifically for survivors of the bimbocalypse."
Colin looked around as hard hats were given to the men, including himself.
"These shifts of building will last up to 10 hours a day, as to lead to the rise of the glorious city!" Donavan said as he brought up an image of buildings woth happy people surrounded by electric fencing.
"Ten hours a day?" one guy asked. "Are there are breaks with that?"
Donavan laughed "No."
Before anyone could protest, several musclebound goons came in and drug the men off to the site. They were chained up and threatened with whipping if they didn't get out their sledgehammers and start busting rocks.
"GET TO WORK!" a goon yelled as everybody hammered away.
The minute one slowed down, he was whipped until his back oozed blood.

Ending: Drudgery to the End
Colin was no longer a man to the survivalists: by taking that pack he had fallen for a trap Donavan had set. The man wanted his dellusion of a utopian city built, no matter the cost.
So Colin and 50 others hammered away, day by day, little food, and ever decreasing resting time. In the end, the construction of Paradiso, the protected city of the survivalists, took 39 lives to complete, including Colin's. He ended wishing that he had grabbed another bag.
