Utter outrage filled her heart.
" what do you mean my dissertation is garbage?!" Kelly asked the professor in outrage. DR. Herman looked Across his dark wood desk at her with raised eyebrows,
" I'm sorry miss bloomwood, but this university does not share the same views with you on homosexuality. The very idea that every person has the inherit power to be as such is simply preposterous in the eyes of much of the school board and staff." He brushed the red ink soaked papers aside with a biting glance over his glasses.
" I'll be speaking to the vice principal about he possibility of your expulsion. Until then, good afternoon miss bloomwood
Kelly sulked up to her Apartment door just as the sun was dipping below a ruddy horizon. Her one hand clenched around her book bag and the other closed in a fist.
"Backwards minded insensitive prick. He along with everyone else at this awful university are exactly what's the problem with our soc-" heading up the steps she took a rather ungrateful fall onto the cold dirty cement.
"OW WHAT THE HELL"
She was already so distraught that anything could have set her off, especially an inconspicuous package tossed carelessly onto the stairs. She picked it up, with half a mind to chuck it off the railing a hundred yards or so before here own name caught her eye
Kelly Bloomwood
134B Northwood University.
" I don't remember ordering anything." She mutter hotly under her breath. She nearly dropped it to the ground but on second thought this wouldn't be the first time her mother had purchased an arbitrary label maker. Probably not the last either. She tucked it under her arm and entered her apartment.
The windows were open and the lights were off. Evidence that her two roommates were off somewhere partying or drinking. Kelly flicked on the power and dropped everything on the table, determined to have a good scream in the bathroom, until the package again caught her eye. Hopping for a box of goodies, distractions, or laundry detergent she grabbed a kitchen knife and opened it (rather violently to be honest) to see exactly what had been sent. After tearing apart the styrofoam boxing, a sleek silver box that looked like a DVD player slid into view. Kelly stares quizatically at the writing on top
Chronivac 4.0 was read in a deep glossy grey.
" on no this has got to be one of my brothers new systems." She thought to herself.
Having a rather nerdy brother was kind of a drag, especially in college, but she did get the occasional well intended gift from him. She's feel guilty if she didn't try it so she pulled her dirty lap top out of her book bag. She plugged the box in and saw the words on top light up. A small message popped up on her desk top,
Not the usual," do you trust this computer," or " rent is due this Tuesday." No, this one read,
" are you ready to change the world?"
Kelly squinted at the bright screen. Clicking okay. Part of her was curious as to what this "chronivac could do, another just simply needed a distraction from the seething anger eating away at her mind. A screen popped up with a million different options on it.
Confused at first Kelly began reading through the choices available.
A smile began to tug at the corners of her lips as she read on.
Although this program was probably fake, she had nothing better to do tonight, and hell, she might not even have a school to go to tomorrow, so she decided to humor this strange little device.
Pausing for a moment she wondered what exactly she would edit on this program, which mysteriously seemed to know a lot about her and he people around her.
Shrugging she chose...
