Cory needed to get away. He headed down the corridor, and turned at the first opportunity and bolted from the main building. He knew that Charles would be in hot pursuit. He looked at the Science building on his left and the Athletic Center on his right. He figured Charles would never look for him in the Athletic Center, so he he darted around the side and entered the Boys Locker Room. There were lots of guys changing for the next gym class, so Cory hurriedly made his way to a quiet section of the locker room where none of the lockers seemed to be in use. Only after he had been sitting there on the bench catching his breath did he realize his mistake. These lockers were reserved for the Football/Soccer Team, and the U-shaped banks of lockers had no exit except back the way he had come. Charles and his buds were on the soccer team, and he could hear their voices approaching. There was nowhere to hide. All the lockers were locked except for one. Then he remembered he could transform.
What would go unnoticed in a locker? He stared at the clothing hanging in the locker, and the kit at the bottom filled with toiletries. He took a deep breath, made up his mind. Then he reached out and clutched an object.
