As Katie and Kelly were waiting in line, the nagging feeling in Katie's head kept rolling over and over. She wasn't sure why but she felt like something was amiss. Kelly seemed to sense her girlfriend's concern and meshed her fingers with the other teen. "Hey, its okay sweetie. It's just a movie. Goodness, I haven't seen you so nervous since our first date."
Katie nodded blushing, but some part of her had a tough time remembering so long ago. How old had she been? She wasn't really sure now, but for some reason her mind had a blank on her relationship with Kelly until this point.
"I wish I could relive that day," Katie found herself thinking. As she did, the ring on her finger began to warm, interpreting her wish as it had the other. Katie and kelly's fingers were intermeshed but she noticed a sensation of vertigo. Suddenly she realized that she had made an inadvertent wish again, but even as she did, the nature of the wish was transforming her mind to the newly adjusting reality as it was her body.
The two girls were shrinking, their teenage attributes diminishing. Their clothes began to transform with them as they crossed a threshold back from teenagers to preteens. Soon, two ten year old girls stood in line, no one the wiser to the change, not even themselves. For their part, the two were best friends, going out to the movies. They had no memory of being mother and daughter. They were just friends, very close friends who shared everything together now.
Katie smiled as she thought about the strange ring on her finger. Today was the day she intended to tell Kelly all about the ring. She'd been nervous to till now, but she knew it was the right thing to do with her best friend Kelly.
