Night started to fall, and I knew that I had to heat things up quick before my 24-hour time limit was up. Luckily, as much as I had improved Ken, his directive to clean didn’t cover EVERY chore in the book. When it came time for dinner (a large bowl of Cheerios – college kids, am I right?), he dumped his empty bowl in the sink and returned to his video game.
Jack watched him with a trace of his former contempt. I could tell he approved of Ken’s new (mostly) clean behavior, but he was uncomfortable with his homosexuality so he was looking for things to nitpick.
“Genie, I wish Ken would put his cereal bowls away.”
Tired of this slow progression of changes, I gave his newest wish a big nudge.
“I wish Ken would put his cereal bowls AND DILDO COLLECTION away.”
Poof! Gone was the handheld video console. Gone was the shelf where Ken kept his games. In its place was a large, varied selection of dildos. Tall ones, short ones, black ones, glass ones… There was even one that looked like a unicorn! As he got up to rinse his bowl, Jack saw the nub of a neon green one poking through the back of Ken’s shorts.
This was the moment of truth! Would Jack accept or reject this new reality and his gay exhibitionist roommate? He DID look like he was about to barf, but instead he just turned out the light and pretended to go to sleep, so he wouldn’t have to deal with Ken. Or maybe he DID actually go to sleep, because I wasn’t hearing any more wishes out of him.
Uh oh… If he slept through the entire night, I wouldn’t get to have my fun! What was I going to do?
