“Can I be something else other than an angel? Not a big fan of it.”
“Sure, what do you have in mind?” the baker said.
“What can you do?” you asked. “I don’t want to burden you by asking you to do something that you can’t do.”
“Can’t do? Can’t?” the baker said, surprised at this before guffawing. “I can sculpt almost anything! I can sculpt things other than angels; I can sculpt demons from the underworld, Adonises from Greek times, and valiant knights of the medieval times! I can sculpt any form!”
His spiel was full of energy and pride as he seemed to be energized. “Tell me any form and I’ll sculpt it for you.”
“Okay, uhh…”
“If you want, I can even sculpt you into nonhuman forms! You could be a wild wolf, or perhaps a humanoid animal. I can turn you into an inanimate object if you want to; maybe abstract art would be fine, though that’s challenging for me.”
“Uhh… well, what do you suggest?”
“For human forms, I can turn you into very masculine male, or I can turn you into a feminine one if that’s your style,” he said. “I could turn you into a woman or a hermaphrodite if that’s your preference. You could go nude if you like, though I won’t let you go until you have something to wear. After all, decency is still important.”
“Yes, thanks for the suggestions. I’ll… consider them.”
