You enter the store and look around, noticing the man behind the counter only a moment before he speaks. You had not seen this store here before. You don't travel to this side of town often, but with a name like "Spells R Us", how could you resist? The first thing you wondered as you were pulling into the parking lot was 'why would this be in this old run down shopping center?' It might be some odd shop for gamers, and being one, you can't resist finding new ones to explore.
"Hello Jamie, welcome. I've been expecting you," says the man behind the counter. He looked pretty old, his grey hair beginning to go white hinting the man may be nearing his seventies. 'He probably came with the building', you think, causing you to give a slight smile at the wry humor before you realize that- somehow, the old guy knows your name?
"Wait. How do you-" you try to ask, before he finishes your sentence for you suddenly.
"Know your name? I know many things, lad. Names are actually quite simple. But you're not here to discover the workings of the universe now are you?" The old man asks back. As you ponder a response, he turns around and grabs a box in shiny new cellophane and turns back, showing it to you. You don't really realize the words, still trying to figure out what the hell he's talking about, and now he's holding a shiny box to be examined. You look at the image as he says to you, "You're here to find something 'interesting' to do. Well my dear boy," he pauses and waits for your eyes to meet before he says, "FOUND."
Well, the box is certainly interesting enough, and the guy is starting to worry you. Not wanting his telepathy in your head any longer than absolutely necessary, you try to leave as quickly as possible. You don't want to anger the man who has too much power either, you pull out your wallet and run your card, before he thinks you ungrateful. Taking your new game, you exit with well deserved post haste, eager to get as far away from this store as you can get. ...for now...
The old man smiles broadly as you drive away quickly. He knows far too well, having done this many times before. You'll be back... They always come back for more...
