Ashley had been keeping a secret from her friends and family. Most of them knew that she worked at Innolabs, but they all thought that she was one of the researchers. She hadn't really decided to disabuse them of that notion, but her role was far less theory and far more practical. She was, for all intents and purposes, a human guinea pig. She had been undergoing a rigorous series of tests and preparatory operations to allow her body to withstand the changes from the evolution chamber.
Finally, the preparations were completed. She had been briefed that this first change would only be temporary, a week at most, but there was no full guarantee that the reversal process would be successful. They had tried it on a variety of substitute animals, but this was the first human trial.
