(As in the option title, I am changing the perspective to second person, from Dan's perspective.)
"So this is the place?" You asked looking upon a log cabin type house that looked rather spacious all things considered. You both were secluded in the woods with the isolated cabin.
"Yes, why do you ask? Do you not like it?" Kat asked, however you weren't listening, and were blowing small puffs of fire and smoke in the air as you just figured out the how to breathe fire.
"Hey, idiot, don't burn down the house, you're living here too." Kat said snapping her fingers to get your attention.
"Well I apologize for practicing how to breath fire in a safe environment, and elevation above ground. Nostalgia is a good thing to have, with obvious limitations of course." You said annoyed
"Oh god that smart talk is getting worse." Kat said
"I still don't know what you're talking about, I'm just communicating in a way that I fine comfortable." You said cocking your head to the side.
"Just go play in the cellar, and kill any pests you find. Just give me time to get used to the new "civilized" you." Kat said, and you gave her a puzzled look, and said,"Civilized?"
"Just...ugh! Just go do your thing, and I'll do mine." Kat said
You honestly didn't know what Kat was talking about, so you shrugged and saw a cellar door outside the house. You opened the doors and they made a giant creeking noise as if they hadn't been touched in decades, and there was a considerable amount ou dust clouding the place too. Nonetheless you went into the dark cellar, and looked around. You were actually very surprised about your eyesight, and your night vision in your eyes was almost perfect, and you could see everything as if the room was being lit by a high powered light.
You saw a lot of empty shelves everywhere around the cellar, and a large broken wall to the side that lead to a cave, of sorts. You took one step towards the cave, and you immediately felt something scurry up your foreclaw, and onto your head. Then you heard a tinier squeaky voice say,"Hey Lizard, this is my home, now leave!" The voice also sounded like it was hissing at you, and annoyed
"I am sorry, I was under the impression that my sister and I inherited this property from our great grandmother, and that this portion is my half. My sister is a witch, and her turning me dragon was her first act of probably many. What are you exactly by the way? You definitely aren't big considering you crawled up my claw, and onto my back." You said
You then saw a male ferret loom over your face and hiss at you, and you picked it off of you with your claw, and you watched it struggle in your grasp. "Let me go! I won't let my mate and I die by the hands of you, you hoy-headed freak!" The ferret said
"So you were the one talking to me rodent. You should know that I was told to get rid of any rodents here, and I can easily do that and get a meal out of it too. However, I'm not in the mood for my first hunt to be a ferret, and you did say you had a mate, may I ask do you have a family yet? Answer me honestly, or you will burn." You said growling
"Uh..uuh, yes, well actually not yet, my mate is pregnant with my seed though." The ferret said nervously
"In that case feel free to stay as long as you don't bother me or my sister. I have a tolerance that exists, but knowing her for as long as I have, she won't tolerate anything if she so much as sees you. I'll have you know that I am very reasonable, so please don't cause any problem for me." You said, and put the ferret safety back onto the ground and he was frozen in panic.
"Now, seeing as we're going to see each other much more frequently I think we should properly introduce ourselves. My name is Dan, and you are...?" You asked
"Uh, okay, I'm Xadu, I've n..n...never heard that name b...before." The ferret, Xadu said
"Oh, don't be afraid of me anymore, and if your question is, am I foreign then I suppose you can say that I am. If you don't mind I'll be taking the cave as my home from now on, is that a problem?" You asked
"Oh thank the lives, I thought you were going to stay out here, my mate is in a small hole in the wall." Xadu said
"Well, just a tip don't try to steal any food from upstairs where my sister is. Trust me, she turned me into a dragon, so who knows what will happen to you if you go up there, not to mention your young...sorry is that going too far?" You asked
"No, I can see why you might say that, a forager must forage so I'll keep that in mind. It was certainly a surprise to meet you uh, Dan." Xadu said
"Same to you Xadu, how long will it take before your mate gives birth?" You asked
"On the morrow, I believe, and did I hear you say that you weren't always a dragon?" Xadu asked
"Yes, I became this only minutes before, so I have to adapt using my new instincts. I was human, and my sister is human, and she's quite literally a witch by blood. So for your sake, my sake, and your family's sake please stay hidden from her. I will do my best to protect you too, this is my home after all, and I wouldn't appreciate any intruders." You said
"Oh wow, you will actually do that for us?" Xadu asked
"I live here, so trust me when I say any problems that affect my home, affects yours as well. So keep that in mind and feel free to tell your mate about me if you'd like. If not she'll probably still get acquainted with me anyways. I'll try to get my sister out of the house tomorrow as well, so she doesn't know the ruckus of what your mate is going through." You said
"Thank you so much, that means so much to me. But why are you doing this?" Xadu asked
"Because I live here, you are the first animal I have had the pleasure to communicate with, and you basically have a family with your mate so if I'd kill you then it would only give me guilt. Anyways I'm going to tidy up a bit, just do your thing and I'll do mine." You said
"Alright, thanks again, Dan," Xadu said before retreating through a small hole in the wall
