You watched the cats, but then had a thought about Dust,"What if he gets infected? No Master Harauphar would definitely kill me if he did."
You immediately willed the animals away, and the cat ran off into the woods. Dust rushed towards the tree line still in his instinctive trance until you yelled,"Dust! Snap out of it! None of that was real! It was all me as you we said earlier!" You barked and Dust immediately stopped in his path and shook his head to snap back to focus.
"Wr...wraith, did you...did I...?" Dust asked confused
"You don't know what happened? Dust you almost fucked an infected cat that was female, so I ordered them all away immediately." You said
"So...you weren't willing to infect me like I said I was willing to, and wanted to." Dust said glaring at you
"It's more than just that Dust, if you were to get infected then you couldn't vouch for me still being sane, and on top of that Master would kill us both in a situation where he looses a familiar to another. In this case I would be held responsible for your infection, and you may not have been able to even speak much less think for yourself. I don't even think that I could have transformed you to have thumbs either, I don't know that much about this." You said
"Oh...I see your point now, forgive me for my ignorance. But that female cat was quite tempting by my standards." Dust said blushing
"I picked at random, I was laughing my ass off when I realized that it was female though, but then I realized what you were doing. That entire situation was inappropriate beyond my standards personally, let's just go inside and forget that you tried to mate with an infected cat." You said
"When you put it like that it makes me look shameful, I do agree to a degree of pride that we never speak of that again. Never in the context of what happened unless Master wants us to elaborate, but I think we would both be punished for what we did just then." Dust said
"Even more reason to go back inside and tell only a summary of what happened here. I told those animals to go back towards the infected area. Dust do you think that there is any threat of infection to the surrounding area?" You asked
"Not unless they defecate, but that does make me wonder something. Why were there so many of them? You clearly made yourself apparent as the dominant species, but this is a serious issue." Dust said
"What do you mean?" You asked
"The infection is closer than from what I remember, either it's spreading faster or it's drawn to you in the same way those animals were." Dust said
"Wait what? Let me see something really quick." You said trying to focus on the use of your soul/infection vision, and you could see a large purple aura, nearby, but the formation seemed almost symmetrical from where you originally were.
"Oh shit! Dust we may not be safe here much longer. It's not drawn to me, I can sense where the infection is, and I can see that it is spreading slowly, but at an increasing rate that keeps growing. On top of that we're on the edge of a boarder, and I don't think we have that much longer before it crosses into the cottage." You said
"Can you estimate?" Dust asked
"You said I was out for three days, how large was the area then?" You asked
"Rather small, you were just on the edge of it according to Master." Dust said
"Shit that fast?! In that case I won't even give us a day, I'd say a 3-4 hours is the average. We have to move, now." You said
"But what about Master's orders? His supplies, his work?" Dust asked, and you fell silent not knowing what to do. Certainly you couldn't move everything out of Harauphar's cottage, but you could certainly carry a few items. However whatever you carry will only slow you down, and Dust can't carry anything at all. What do you do?
