Human mind vs. cat instincts.

added by Handle Taken 6 years ago A

You try to think, which is more difficult then it should be. As much as you'd like to strategize a way out of this room your new ears, and enhanced sense of smell keep bringing your attention to things you never noticed before, and the urge to inspect them tempts you away from the task at hand. What's more the drive to leap back on that big, wonderfully comfy bed is so overwhelming that you find yourself leaping gracefully back up to it. You're almost back to sleep before you shake yourself out of it. You realize that your catlike instincts are fighting with your human ones, and to sleep may cause your human mind to slip away entirely. You growl in frustration, the noise coming out as the same low threatening moan you've heard from other cats you've known.

You shake your head at that. Regular cats. Regular cats you've known. You remind yourself that you're not a cat. You remind yourself that you were human once. It takes longer then you're comfortable with to remember the words to illustrate that. You're almost too lost in your thoughts to miss the sound of the door opening and an unfamiliar scent wafting through the door. Your human and cat sides both agree that hiding is the best option and you find yourself darting under the bed.

"Hello?" you hear the voice of a human female. "Where's my curious little kitty?" You remain where you are. She's unfamiliar, which makes you nervous. What's more the fact that she knew you'd be in here means that she's most likely responsible for what's happened to you, at least partially. It doesn't take her long before she figures out where you are, evidenced by the human's face peeking in at you as she goes to her knees to look under the bed.

"There you are. Come out you curious little cutie, let me get a look at you." You're ambivalent about heading out. She's strange, she could be a threat. After forcing yourself to think it through, however you realize that she's probably you're only chance at becoming human again. She certainly will know more about this then you ever will.

"Maybe if I get some tuna you'll come out." she muses "That always peaks a kitty's interest, and you are a kitty after all." Sleeping almost made you loose your human half, you're afraid to think what allowing yourself to be tempted out by a bowl of tuna would do. You steel your courage and slowly slink out from under the bed.

"Oh, you are a cutie." she says and picks you up. You fight down the instinct to bolt away from her, forcing yourself to remember that she is indeed your only chance at becoming human again. She cuddles you to her chest, your front paws resting on her shoulder while she presses the side of her face against you.

"...and if you're letting me this close I can guess you're a cutie that still has a significant amount of human in your mind. We'll just have to get rid of that, hmmm?" she says and gives you a scritch just above the tail. The sensation almost makes you go cross-eyed with pleasure and for a moment you almost consider just letting your human mind slip away. After all if being a cat feels this good...no. You shake your head and let out the low threatening growl again.

"Don't like that idea?" she says and looks you in the eyes "Well, I don't like the idea of loosing a perfectly good kitty, and since I'm the sorceress..." she says with a wicked smile. Still she looks into your face and holds you close again.

"Oh, how can I say 'no' to that face." she says "But if I help you I won't see that face. What's a girl to do?" She sets you down on the bed and sighs.

"Okay, here's the deal. By now you'll have noticed that concentrating on human thoughts is much more difficult and cat thoughts are sooo much easier. Give in to those thoughts completely and you'll be a cat forever, but you'll be happy about that, so no big deal. Hold out long enough without forgetting who you are and you'll shift into another form, not human mind you but closer to it. That form will have it's own set of instincts and thoughts that you'll have to keep in check if you ever want to be human again. So it will go, stage after stage until either you give up or become human again. If you agree, then keep fighting off your catlike instincts. If you don't agree, then give in and become my precious little kitty completely." she says and gives your lower back another quick scritch.

"No come along, let's get you some tuna." she says and opens the door, gesturing you to follow.
