Once the cloak came off, at first glance you guessed her to be a woman somewhere in their mid-thirties - about twice your own 18 years - with platinum-blond hair that fell past the shoulders in waves.
“Wha…?” You blurt out, stumbling as you try to get your footing.
“Sit.” She commanded, her silken words harsh as you found yourself compelled to obey, already back on the dirt with wisps of scented embers around you.
“Who?” You try to ask while she circles you, casting an appraising eye over yourself. “What, are you?”
“Your Mistress, to answer the first question. A Witch, and a powerful one at that, to answer the second.” She stopped her pacing in front of you, and now you noticed the long slender staff, topped with an emerald gem(?) that the wood wrapped itself around. “And before you ask, how familiar are you with the concept of Familiars?”
“As in the witch’s cat or something?”
“That is one, yes.” She acknowledged. “But the Familiar can be any animal. The ritual I performed was to bring mine to me. Which brings me to you.”
“How!? How can I be a Familiar!?” You protest, volume increasing with your frustration at what you found yourself in.
“Sit!” She barked, and again, you resumed sitting against your will. “You will not raise your voice to me.”
“H-How?” This came as a whisper from you, unable to make it any louder. “How are you doing this? How can I be a Familiar when I’m not an animal?”
“As a Familiar, you have no option but, to follow my every command.” She explained more calmly now that she was firmly in control of you. “And while technically, a human is an animal, they’re not really suited for the purpose a Familiar is for. But I can fix that.”
“H-How?” You didn’t like where this was going one bit, now shaking less from the cold and more from simple fear.
“You’ll find out.” She followed with a series of words you couldn’t even begin to understand as the gem on her staff glowed softly.
With your eyes drawn to it, you were only dimly aware of the blurring around you as you would later realise that she had transported the two of you to her home. Which was…
