The man paused at what he had just asked.
"Do you know how to operate this equipment?" the man asked.
"No, but you could show me." Colin replied.
Perkins stopped for another moment: getting a break would be pleasant.... but how could he trust this hefty guy he knew nothing about?
"How can I trust you not to try and pull any sort of stunt?" the man questioned with great intimidation.
"I'm not aligned with anybody, I swear! The bimbos overran my neighborhood!" Colin said defensively.
The signal man narrowed his eyes for an intense ten minutes, before concluding that it wasn't a lie.

Colin kept scrolling through, looking for any other reports currently active. He felt a hand on his shoulder and spun around knocking into the radio.
"What are you doing here?!" Hawthorne asked.
"The guy who runs this thing showed me what his job required and took a break while I did it." Colin said.
The exchange was interrupted by a voice crackling through the static.
"H--lo? He---? Anyb-dy th-re?" the voice went.
Colin dialed the radio to match the frequency and said:
"Colin Greys here, who is this?"
The voice was...
