Genie! Hey Genie, come back, you made a mistake! I did'nt wish this, I only asked a question! Come back now! You have to change me back!
The was a brilliant flash of light and the lamp reappeared, then smoke began pouring out of its spout. The genie that had transformed me materialized before me. Our lamps sat on the ground about 6 feet apart. Our smoke plumes were were nearly identical in size and we both wore wrist shackles.
"Impossible, I do not make mistakes. You did indeed wish to be a Genie."
"No I did'nt" I replied. "I asked you, 'Can I be a genie just like you?'. I never said the word Wish. Change me back."
The genie was silent for a long moment, then replied. "My former master is correct, you did ask a question. There is a problem though. Genie magic cannot be reversed. You are now a genie and that cannot be changed. I can however, grant a wish that modifies the error. Since you do not want to be a genie, and can modify the spell so that you must return to the lamp every 12 hours. If you do not the lamp will seek you out and draw you in no matter what. You also must grant at least 1 wish a day. If you fulfill those two restriction, you can live your former life."
"If that is the best you can do I suppose it will have to do. I wish it."
"One more thing my former master must know. You must protect your lamp from others. You can still be forced back to being a full time genie. If anyone gains possession of your lamp, they will be your genie as long as they posses the lamp. If you are out of the lamp when someone gains possession of it, you will be drawn to it and have no control until you grant their wishes."
"OK genie, I still wish it. But I still have two additional wishes that you owe me."
