As the deputies talked to Nate Anderson; the remaining Andersons and Talbots headed on over to check on Peter Talbot. Back in the hospital after peeing blood; it was found out that he had some bone chips that made their way to his urinary tract. The bone chips came loose after having a night of wild passion with a were-rabbit that is now his mate. Seeing the were-lion sitting on the edge of the bed looking board; Jean was about to gleefully run up and flick her brother’s leonine ears before Leon placed a hand on her shoulder indicating no funny business.
“Spoil sport,” Jean looking glum.
“Are you all right,” Leon looking at his son; “need anything?”
“What”, Peter looking up surprised to see his family; “what’s wrong this time?”
“For you,” Leon answering; "nothing, its just an incident happened involving your sister and her…”
“Some idiot were-panthers,” Jean interrupting; “tried to attack Nate a little while ago. He is here at the hospital getting looked at."
Leon was about to chime in when his phone buzzes; looking at the message he emits a low growl as he shakes his head.
“Something wrong,” Regina the first to speak up.
“Yep,” Leon re-reading the text from Daisuke; “its council business. And I have to leave right now.”
“But isn’t the council meeting tomorrow,” Jean looking at her father; “regarding what happened…”
“What happened this morning at the picnic grounds,” Leon finishing; “but that has been postponed. This is an emergency meet that is taking place at Tachibana’s estate right now.”
“Could it have anything to do with what happened to my son,” William speaking.
“Don’t know,” Leon putting his phone away and looking confused; “all I know is this is important and all council members are to be present.”
Leon kisses his wife as he rapidly explains having to take the car and dashes out of Peter’s room; leaving everyone curious as to what is happening. The were-lion has a look of anger spread on his face as part of the message he received for the emergency meeting regarded the possibility of all were’s being exposed.
“So where was I,” Jean trying to pick up where she last left off before being interrupted.
“You were at the part,” Peter shaking his head; “when you were chasing one of the men while in your fursona.”
“Oh yeah,” Jean smiling; “that was a sight to behold. A were-panther shitting his pants in fear as a pissed of were-lioness comes barreling at him, all the while a brown truck destroys his get a way car.”
“What,” Peter looking confused.
“Spencer Lawson,” William and Martha speaking in unison.
“One of Eric’s mates,” Jean speaking; “she used that truck as a battering ram just as a police cruiser showed up. I swear,” Jean laughing; “that scared man practically dove into that police cruiser to try and get away from me.”
*******
“So you never saw those men before,” a deputy asking Nate Anderson as he sat on a hospital bed waiting for a nurse to discharge him.
“I’ve never met them before,” Nate responding; “one moment I was walking to the front door after getting out of my fiancés car, the next minute I’m on the ground trying to defend myself against a flurry of blows.”
“They never said anything to as they were attacking you,” the deputy pressing the teenager.
While most parts of the attack were still fuzzy for him; there was one that stuck out.
“They said,” Nate looking at the deputies; “compliments for driving Kenya into their boss’s arms.”
“That’s it,” the deputy writing what Nate said down; “anything else.”
“No,” Nate shaking his head; “but I do want to press charges against them.”
“With all the witness that saw the attack,” the deputy speaking; “there is plenty of evidence to ensure they get what they deserve. We’ll be in touch if there is any changes.”
Just as the deputies left; the nurse re-entered to check on Nate. Taking his vitals and noting them on the chart as his parents and Jean return.
“Mom is going to hang around for a little while longer,” Jean speaking; “So I’ll be driving her home.”
“That means,” William looking at Nate; “your with us.”
“As soon as they let me leave,” Nate feeling a little woozy for trying to stand up but needing help to not fall down; “hopefully. Where is Eric?”
“He’s at home,” Martha answering; “on his computer having his skype chats with Frieda and Spencer.”
“But I saw him earlier,” Nate shaking his head in confusion; “he was standing next to you earlier mom.”
“No,” William looking concerned;” Eric is at home, are you sure you are all right?”
“I’m fine,” Nate taking a step before collapsing on the ground while losing consciousness.
“NATE,” Jean looking worried as she rushes to try and grab him
“Go get the nurse,” William speaking to Martha as he bent down to help his son; “and hurry please!”
“Right away,” Martha rushing out the area.
