Animalia Magazine: Amazing April Editio

added by makutamon 6 years ago O

The April issue of Animalia Magazine was a bit of a surprise. Instead of a themed Animalian couple, the couple on the cover was Laura and Walter, the most unlikely Animalian Couple. Though it made some sense as there was an interview with the couple in the magazine. Two other articles were: Burning off the winter 'fluff'; and the Science of Twitterpainting.

Burning off the Winter Fluff talked about easy ways to lose weight by becoming more active during the spring. It also talked about avoiding certain "popular" spring foods, and easy to perform exercises. There were also a number of recipes for things from smoothies to jumpstart metabolism, to foods to crush cravings.

The Science of Twitterpainting was an article written by Dr Lucia Valentino (Miss Vivian's pen name so nobody would know it was her). It talked about easy ways to form lasting relationships with people, especially with potential Animalian bondmates, and things NOT to do to mess it up. The biggest thing it talked about was avoiding the use of lame one-liners, and actually getting to know people.

The latest Adventures of Ed Meanstreets comic had him going after a supposed "miracle diet drug" that might contain illegal narcotics. His "Investigations" revealed some surprising facts about the diet drug industry, the biggest surprise was the fact that during the 1920s era of "flappers", many women resorted to deliberately swallowing tapeworm eggs to achieve their goals. There were also information on the patent medicine era, and how one patent medicine accidentally gave rise to Coca-Cola. There was also information on the infamous opium trade, and how it evolved from blessing into curse when Columbus brought back tobacco and the pipe from the new world. The climax of the adventure was when Ed Meanstreets discovered that the drug company was getting the secret ingredient from Madame "Poppy" Flowers, and was resolved with the medical authorities shutting down the drug firm.

The other main article was a preview of the IAC. There was a removable map of both Claw Coliseum and the booths and displays that would also be part of it. There was also a schedule on what events were going to take place, and where and when. It proved that the Animalia Games were not the only part of the IAC.

Project Phoenix Profiles did a few stories on "fallen" celebrities whose bad decisions cost them a great deal, and were turning to Project Phoenix to start over a new life away from their fame and notoriety. Two or three of them were would-be addicts that got out just in time before addiction came in, but not before their careers took a hit from it.

The Future part of The Past, Present, and Future talked about how Daniel Richardson would be cleaning out his family's storage sheds and getting old War memorabilia/relics dating back to his great-grandfather's time. There was also a brief interview with him about his war history. In it he mentioned that his father always suspected that Germany was punished too severely after World War I, thereby allowing Adolf Hitler to come to power and contributing to the powder keg that would start World War II.

There was also a brief, "satirical news article" on why the president was so offended by Animalian culture. In it, it was said that he was prejudiced against it because of how he was raised during they heyday of hippie culture, but it was done in a satirical way. At the very end there was an official statement by the president allowing the article in the spirit of April Fools Day, but that some of it was not incorrect.
