As Ben Twist finished up his breakfast, he heard noises coming from his mothers' bedroom, but this time it was the more normal sounds that accompanied each day. Those of people showering and getting dressed.
Hope you three had a good time, and whoever the new guy is enjoys being a weretiger, Ben wrote in a quick note to Samantha and Frances, before leaving it under a magnet on the refrigerator door.
With that, he grabbed his books and headed out the front door to his car.
Because of his carpool service, Ben always left a little earlier than his parents. The fact that they appeared to be running late just spoke to how important last night was to Marci Green and the new weretiger, let alone that Samantha and Frances needed a break with everything going on in town, especially concerning the Harper-Jenkins wedding tomorrow morning.
As Ben put his stuff in the trunk of his car, he noticed Nate and Eric Anderson leaving their house to approach his position.
"Morning guys. Soon as Alex gets here, we'll take off and stop to get Julie on our way to school," he told them after exchanging hellos. As usual, Ben couldn't help noticing what he thought was a brief flash in Eric's eyes at the mention of his fiance's name.
Nate turned to see his boyfriend crossing the open land between houses rushed to be with him.
Eric and Ben couldn't help but smile as the two werewolves in love held hands as they walked back to their ride.
With everyone's books in the trunk, they were on their way.
As usual, Eric Anderson thought Julie Stovall was a vision of loveliness as she approached Ben's car.
Julie simply smiled as Eric got out and held the door open for her.
Julie sat in the middle with Eric on her left and Alex on the right with Nate riding shotgun next to Ben up front.
With everyone's seat belts fastened, they took off for Moon Lake High School.
"Can I ask you a question?" Eric whispered in her ear.
"Sure," replied Julie, her deep blue eyes staring longingly at him.
"I know a lot of weres sleep in their fursonas, but has there ever been a time when you fell asleep as you are now, but woke up in your fursona?"
"A couple," admitted Julie. "Come to think of it, you're always in my dreams when I do."
Eric actually blushed at that before replying, "Since you, every morning I wake up scaly. At least Stage 1, if not displaying my full tail."
"I'm on your mind a lot, huh?"
"A whole lot. Why?"
"It's natural. We're in love and long for each other. Whenever we sleep together, it doesn't happen, right?"
"No. Whatever form I fall asleep in when I'm actually with you is the same one I awake in."
"Well, don't worry about it darling," said Julie, before giving Eric a peck on the cheek. "You're in love and your body is just naturally reacting to not being with me. Mers and the Skulk have the strongest love bonds of all the weres I know of. Once we're married and sharing a roof and a bed on a regular basis, all your problems will be over," she assured him, before taking his hand in hers.
"Well, there is one problem that might develop after we're married," realized Eric.
"Oh? What?" asked Julie, wondering if this was something to be concerned about.
"Lack of sleep from making love to you all the time."
This time it was Julie's turn to blush as Ben's car approached their destination.
As Ben started to park, Julie finally found her voice again and asked, "Are we still on for tonight? I have the pool cabana all ready for after supper with my folks."
"Sure," happily replied Eric as he got out and held the door open for her. "With my folks going to the Skulk meeting tonight and then that wedding tomorrow morning, they said it was okay for me to spend the night with my lady," he answered, while Julie got out of the car. "Especially since now that Nate will be babysitting his boyfriend over the weekend."
"It's not babysitting," complained Alex as he got out. "My folks just didn't want me to be all by myself over the weekend and wanted someone to keep me company while they're away."
"Sounds like babysitting to me," smirked Ben, as he popped the trunk so everyone could grab their books.
"Well, whatever you want to call it, I don't mind being with Alex," said Nate, as he secured his car door.
"And I certainly don't mind being with you Stud," replied Alex, using his pet name for Nate.
"I'll be with Kenya tonight, but I'm sure we'll see each other at the Halloween Dance tomorrow night," realized Ben, while making sure his car was locked for the day.
"Definitely," was the unanimous reply.
