Why can't be two of Mom?

Mom pressed the 'Enter' key and said, "There we go!"

Jeff watched closely to see what Mom would turn into, but nothing happened.

Jeff's Mom looked at her son-turned-clone and said, "I changed reality so that no one will see anything odd about there being two of us."

Jeff stared blankly as Mom kept talking: "Even better, in this new reality, Jeff's on a foreign exchange student program and can only send private emails to his twin-Moms! Yes, the Mom-twins each have the same name!"

That did it, slightly stumbling over speaking in his mother's voice, Jeff said, "I won't have any of this."

Mom offered her new clone the computer and said, "Feel free to try."

Jeff sat down and began to undo Mom's changed, or he would have if he could bring himself to do so!

Mom laughed and said, "That's right, I altered your mind just enough to not want to go back to normal! Now then, do you want to cook dinner or do the laundry? I'll take care of the chore you don't pick."
