"Oh good, you're all awake," Mrs. Morgan walked back into the room, dumping a pile of clothes onto a nearby bed. "Your parents came by with some spare clothes and they packed some bags for the weekend."
She eyed Kate and let out a sigh. "Kate you should count yourself lucky that you fell unconscious here. Anywhere else and someone might've accidentally stepped on you," she chastised.
Kate flinched. "Sorry miss," she mumbled.
"It's fine," Mrs. Morgan said. "You girls can put your clothes on and attend your last few classes for the day. Just avoid the library." With that warning she left the room.
The four of them stared at the pile of clothes, before Rachel spoke up. "I've never worn a bra before."
"Me neither," Tanya mumbled, eyeing her breasts hidden underneath her hospital gown.
Dawn threw off her own gown and smirked. "Well in this case, I'm the senior... not that that's a good thing..."
Kate had already flown over to the pile and grabbed the clothes that were clearly meant for her: a T-shirt and faded skinny jeans. "Not the biggest fan," she grumbled, sliding on her bra and panties. She blinked. "Huh, that was easier than I thought." She had some trouble with her T-shirt as her new wings had to be placed into holes on the back, while she struggled to pull up her jeans.
Dawn pulled on her own clothes, which were another T-shirt and a skirt for her tail. "So what's our plan?" she asked the others.
Rachel frowned at she grabbed a plain black swimsuit, unimpressed. "This wasn't exactly what I was expecting to wear for school," she said, putting it on. "Well I guess it's because I'm a mermaid... I think."
She looked at Dawn. "We'll attend class like normal and if the book shows up we grab it. Simple. And if you're lucky they'll be a way to reverse it for you three."
Tanya seemed to be having the most trouble putting on her own clothes. She had managed to fasten her bra into place, somehow, but what was really throwing her off was her new lower half. She held a giant dark brown skirt in her hands. "How am I...?" she muttered. She tried to slid it up her legs but found the opening too small, so instead she threw it over her head and let it fall past her upper half. It settled at the edge where her human half met her deer half, allowing her to tighten it, before putting on her blouse.
Kate was looking herself in the mirror. "This isn't right," she said, noticing how much her new clothes accentuated her curves. "I almost prefer the hospital gown."
"Same here," Tanya mumbled. Oh why had she agreed to help Dawn with the book. If only...!
"Oh good you're finished," Mrs. Morgan walked back in, a stack of documents in hand. "Well go to class you four. Just remember to meet me in the back of the school when class ends. I'll be driving you to my house so you can stay for the weekend, while we try to solve this entire mess."
