Jenny found herself looking over the inside of the Baptist Church that would be holding the wedding. While Harry and his family weren't Baptist, they had agreed to use the Baptist Church as a means to appease her parents. It wasn't a bad looking church, though rather simple, mostly wooden, and of a rather modest size. The most modern part of the building was the metal detector which was installed to serve in the main doorway that lead into the church, and Jenny did notice the frame had been altered to allow for the metal detector to be installed, though like much in Moon Lake, the age of the building wasn't that apparent as the building was well maintained and good order. That was good and Jenny liked that much.
"You've all done a lot," Jenny spoke to the minister and Keiko Tachibana, the wife of Taro Tachibana, with both of them stood near an internal set of doors that lead from the entry-way/lobby to the main chapel area.
"It's a lot to have to put up with, ma'am," the minster said with a small smile with a heavy southern accent, "I always wanted my church to be simple. That device stands out like a sore thumb."
"It is for security, though," Keiko said to him calmly as Jenny and Harry looked on, "as this Dieter Wilhelm could very well try to bring weapons in..."
"That's why I accepted it," the minister said.
"You've both still done a lot for us with regard to the wedding," Harry said to them as he could smell the aroma of the flowers that decorated the inside of the chapel, "and for that we both thank you."
The minister and Keiko both nodded and managed a small smile. They both then turned toward the chapel and the minister soon beckoned them toward the chapel.
"We'd best give one last run through the plan for both ceremonies," the minister spoke as he reached the door.
"Yes," Jenny nodded, "I'd start from here with the wedding procession..."
She then looked to Harry with a smile.
"And I'd be waiting up near the steps to the alter, near you," Harry finished as he looked from Jenny to the minister.
They then entered the chapel. It was well decorated and looked ready for a celebration, if still fairly simple. A few simple flowers were taped to the wooden pews. It made the central aisle up to the alter area one that was framed by beautiful flowers with natural light coming in through the windows that ran down the sides of the chapel. In that it was a beautiful scene that Jenny couldn't help but marvel at.
"Now, if I remember correctly, you wanted family, guests, and friends of the bride to be on the left side of the church," Keiko spoke as she pointed to what was their left side, "and family, friends, and guests of the groom."
"Yes," Jenny nodded.
"For what I can tell you that the security personnel will be standing or seated as needed to keep things as peaceful as possible during the second ceremony," Keiko added.
They nodded as they slowly made their way up the aisle as they came up to the steps before the alter. The minister took a step up to stand so that he was centered on the alter. Keiko moved off to a side on the right by one of the pews while Harry and Jenny stepped forward, Harry on the right and Jenny on the left. Once in front of the minister the turned to face each other, and then held hands.
"Then, from here we move into actual ceremony that you've asked be quick and simple," the minister said slowly as he looked down to Jenny and Harry.
"Yes," Harry nodded, "though will have some differences between the first ceremony and the second. The first is to be quick and simple and our vows have been pre written and memorized. The second ceremony... would be a bit more formal and... traditional."
Jenny slowly nodded i agreement, "To at least give my parents something to think that the wedding... and our pairing is a traditional Baptist pairing."
"Ms. Harper... I grew up Baptist in Mississippi in the the 1850s and we left the South with the War came," the minister spoke, "my family was one of the very few that opposed slavery and secession... I've seen traditional, but from what you and Skulk have described in this... that isn't traditional. That is tyrannical disguised as traditional."
"I'm sure... but the trick is necessary," Keiko spoke from where she stood.
The minister nodded with some acceptance. The reports and practices for this wedding was something that were different from what was normally done. In theory, these sorts of practices would include ALL members of the wedding party, and while they'd been there some some of the earlier practices they weren't there now. He thought that Jenny seemed like a fast improving young werefox. The approaching middle aged weredog felt confident that Jenny and Harry would do fine together, but that didn't mean he didn't have his own doubts regarding the wedding and everything coming.
"It doesn't mean that I have misgivings over everything we have to confront," the minister then sighed.
Jenny and Harry both nodded.
"I know... and I'm sorry my parents are so unbelievable," Jenny told him, "but once things are finished... things will get back to normal."
"Hopefully," the minister nodded.
