The day became sunny by the time Jeff and his fellow anthro canines arrived at the park. And already the foursome were having a very good time enjoying themselves by just being dogs. They played with each other as they trotted alongside each other. They strayed back and forth from the bike path to check out new scents and sounds that caught their attention. Dave even left a calling card behind for everyone else to sniff out, and he did it right in open without being his usual self-conscious self. Just lifted one shaggy leg and squirted a lamppost with a steady stream of his own urine. Out of the foursome, he was clearly enjoying himself.
But once at the park, they mushed on over to the fenced-in dog park and found much to their surprise that they had it all to themselves. And what was even better was that someone left behind some dog toys and frisbees for the them to play with. So they all decided to play their own version of fetch. Mike started it all off by picking up one of the frisbees left behind and tossing it to his pack mates who eagerly and happily went after it. Dave ran past his Great Pyrenees and Toller friend to catch it in his mouth. He then stood up on his hind legs while Mike dropped back down to all fours, his tail wagging back and forth from his own eagerness to get into the sport. Dave edged them on at first by pretending to throw it several times. He laughed and barked at the sight of his friends being so easily fooled by mock throws. He then threw it over the heads and laughed some more as they ran after it, barking and woofing as they went. Dave then dropped back down to all fours himself as it became Mike’s turn again to toss the frisbee for his pack mates.
On and on it went like that. One anthro canine would catch the frisbee, stand up on his hind legs and then toss it over the heads of his pack mates so that they would chase it. And they were all amazed by each other’s actions that such a simple game was proving to be very satisfying for everyone of them. No matter how many times each of them caught the frisbee or tossed it, they all found themselves feeling a burning desire to keep the game going. With one being the “master” until someone else caught it.
Taking a breather during one part of the game, Jeff watched and smelled the others as they continued to be caught up in the sheer enjoyment of playing such a simple game. He panted contentedly and smiled as Sven finally caught the frisbee and had his turn at being the “master”. He then looked over at Mike and Dave and saw that they eagerly and avidly waiting for the Toller to toss it past them. Their ears were perked up in anticipation, their tongues lolled in and out of the muzzle and every muscle in their anthro canines bodies were quivering with pent up energy, all ready to be released in one explosive moment.
“Damn.” Jeff thought. “We’re really getting into this dog thing. It is going to be so hard to go back to being a guy after Monday.”
<Hey, Jeff, are you just going to stand there and be a guard dog, or are you going to pounce back in for some more fun with us?” Dave barked at him.
Jeff smiled, and then smiled some more as he looked back over his shoulder to see his own tail wagging happily back and forth on its own accord. He turned back to his pack mates to see the Dave was the “master” again and was getting ready to make his next throw. He smiled.
<Coming!> He barked back as the frisbee was launched and the game began anew.
