Shawn, through some previous shenanigans now an opossum in a rocket suit, reached up to fetch the plane form the table. He looked at its little prop and said, "Well good thing I've got a proper engine", patting his pair of rocket engines with his other hand. Then he clenched the plane hard and gave his ring the mental command.
This time the size difference wasn't quite as extreme, so both creatures could be seen dissolving at the same time, merging into a common blob. The blob gradually spread out horizontally forming a vaguely flat form. Eventually it split into a cross. After a few more minutes the side pieces of the cross split into 2 parts each, which by themselves became flatter while the other sides formed a roll. Gradually the wings and the fuselage would form out of them as well as a fixed landing gear and a pair of rocket engines just connected to the lower sides of the fuselage. It had an open cockpit, and on its nose, where the engine was, there was a painted on face, with a mouth with sharp teeth going all up to the front, painted on, and a pair of eyes bulging out of the engine cover a bit behind of the teeth. As he regained senses, he said, "Wow" moving his painted on mouth and eyes. He could see Trent, the plastic pilot coming towards him, "Are you alright?", his friend asked, a bit concerned after such an extreme merger. Shawn nodded, deforming his landing gear a bit, "Yeah, I seem to be alright... so lets bring it on."
Trent carefully climbed into Shawn's cockpit where he found a set of seat belts. He put them on, securing him into the comfortable seat. In front of him, he saw the controls giving him a full overview over Shawn's state, as well as the stick and pedals to control the flight. As Shawn fired up his prop-engine, he started to roll forward on the ground until he hit liftoff speed and took up with a combined "Wheeeee!". Flying around the house, dodging lamps and door frames, they eventually found an open window and few out into the night. As they looked like a normal model plain, they didn't raise much suspicion and as they came over a more deserted area, Shawn ignited his rocket engines to give them some extra boost which they used to shoot up into the sky, slowly fading from a deep blue to a dark red in the evening.
