"Amy would SO love this!" Janet says as she pulls out her phone, which was now a wood case with a jewel screen, from her purse, now made of soft birch bark with a vine strap; and dialed. Amy, her best friend and total fairy aficionado, picked up, saying she was already in the parking lot.
Amy soon picked up. "Hey, I just arrived and heading to the food court now."
"Amy, Amy!" Janet paused, her voice was higher than usual; "Is that what I sound like now?" but, that wasn't important right now.
"Janet? Have you been sucking helium at the party supply store again?" Amy asked.
"No; change of plans. I'm at a new shoe store on the second floor right next to the GameStop. Come quickly, there's something here you'll REALLY get a kick out of!"
"Okay, this better be worth it."
"Trust me, it IS!"
Amy hung up, and Janet used the meantime to test her capabilities. She shrank herself down to just under a foot in height and tested out her wings. She felt so giddy beating them, she giggled like a schoolgirl. Of course, her voice was only higher, now. Amy took a second pair of fairy shoes and waited in the dressing room, telling the clerk to direct a her friend to there.
Amy soon arrived. "Janet?" She called out.
"Your friend asked you to go to the dressing room." The clerk said.
"Thanks." Amy said, and she did so.
The door was open, so Amy poked her head in. "Janet?" She called. She didn't respond, there was only a gentle ringing sound, a tiny giggle that passed her notice, and a tiny pair of shoes lying on a bench. She approached the shoes and picked them up. They were made of lavender flower petals, and Amy found them very lovely. "Neat, they're like fairy shoes!"
