With the room cleared, Jennifer was stuck alone with her thoughts. The sunlight shone in through the window, and Jennifer could feel her new leaves and flowers as extensions of her own body, soaking in light and producing nutrients.
"This is so scary... am I even human anymore?"
Jennifer's new body absorbed and produced energy without her thinking about it, like breathing. The feeling of fullness without having eaten was frightening, and she stared at the backs of her pink-petal covered hands, slowly flexing her fingers. Jennifer tried to walk, but since she no longer had legs, she was unable to move, so she just looked around the room. She saw a full mirror towards the back, but wished she hadn't. The sight of her changed form was a shock.
"I'm stuck in this bulb, straight up like a tree!" She looked at the purple hue of the skin covering her breasts, midsection and arms. "What if I keep changing? What if it doesn't stop...? I don't want to become a plant!" Her heart started beating faster.
Unfortunately, this stress soon brought on a new bout of changes.
Jennifer winced and closed her eyes as she felt her already slim waist get even slimmer, resembling a plant's stem at its narrowest point. From the waist up, where her skin hadn't changed color, it was now rapidly fading to a chalky white. She let out a small cry as her neck grew longer, about six or eight inches, tapering out to her shoulders. She could only stare at her reflection in the mirror and watch.
Jennifer's face started to change too, as it became more plant-like. Her pert nose shrank, becoming very, very small. It was just a tiny bump now; her nostrils had disappeared. Jennifer's cheekbones grew more prominent, and her mouth transformed. Teeth started sinking into her gums, about to disappear completely. She really had to struggle to form words as she shouted out.
"Noooo! Am I going to keep changing into a flower? Become a plant completely? Somebody help!"
Nobody seemed to hear her. Jennifer's head continued to change. Her ears receded into the sides of her head, becoming smaller, smaller. Her lips turned a deep purple to match the color of her arms beneath the pink blossoms. Jennifer opened her mouth to scream. Deep purple flesh, it now more resembled a flytrap's orifice than a girl's mouth; her teeth had completely disappeared. Only a raspy hiss emanated as her vocal cords dissolved. She had lost the ability to speak; with Jennifer's new foliage, lungs had become redundant.
*I can't talk! What's happening to meeee?!*
Jennifer's bizarre transformation continued. Her purple eyes widened as her arms shot straight out at her sides. *No! Can't let my arms change too...* Jennifer struggled very hard to control her arms, but there was nothing she could do. Her forearms were moving on their own, as they bent slowly upward until they were at 90 degree angles. Jennifer could feel her fingers starting to elongate. She could still move them, but her fingernails had disappeared. In their place, more pink flowers were growing, to match the ones on the backs of her hands. They popped up, giving her hands a puffy appearance.
The changes stopped suddenly. A few tears escaped Jennifer's eyes as she stared at her reflection. She had become a rosebush.
