Tad waited until it was about an hour and thirty minutes until the dance. Looking at the wall clock in the kitchen from the living room, he got up off the couch and went upstairs to his room and into his bathroom. On the counter was his king costume that he would be wearing to the dance. He took off his current clothes and put on a pair of black pants. He put on his socks and shoes, and then proceeded to grab a pair of leather boot tops that made it look like he was wearing boots.
Next, he put on a blue crushed velvet tunic that had metallic jersey mesh sleeves & lower front inset, and a brown belt with a metallic buckle around his waist. He slid the red velvet cape over his head and fastened it on his right shoulder. The cape was mainly red, but the edges of it had white fur with a few black dots in it here and there. On his head, he placed an elegant looking crown, completing the look.
Tad took a second to admire himself in the mirror. "Not bad," he said to himself happily. "Not bad at all!" He left the bathroom and walked out of his room. He was halfway down the stairs when he heard the doorbell ring. "I'll get it mom!" he called down the stairs as he broke into a jog to the front door. He opened the door and looked at who opened the door, and his jaw dropped.
Standing there was Amy in her queen costume. She was dressed in a gorgeous blue gown. The gown had an asymmetric hemline (meaning that it showed her legs, but was longer in the back) with gorgeous golden lacing along the chest. The sleeves were open hanging, and the bottoms had golden satin, and on her head was a beautiful golden circlet.
"So, how do I look?" Amy asked.
"I...uh...you...WOW..." Tad managed to stutter. "You look beautiful!" Amy blushed and said "And you look handsome as ever. Shall we get going?" She offered her arm to him, and Tad interlocked his arm with hers.
"Of course."
