You and Adam look at each other in horror. "You'll have to let them in," you say. "I'll go into one of the stalls and finish changing."
"Okay," he says, walking towards the doors. Your feet fill the shoes.
You hear Adam unlock and open the door. By now, about minute has passed, and you have grown back to Brian's height and body shape, but you've looked in your phone and you still have Finn's head. "Hey, Mr Giang. Did you come to pick up some papers?"
Guangse Giang is a secretary for the school. He's new to the school, and he moved from northern Vietnam a few months ago. He doesn't speak much English and he doesn't know many of the students. He's also not very good with understanding locks for some reason. "Yes, Andy, I need papers to bring to office. Are you lone here?" By now your hair is slowly darkening and changing from red to brown, and your eyes are more hazel than green.
You don't want Adam to get in trouble for lying in case Mr Giang checks the changing rooms, so you shout, "No!" You realise that your voice sounds more like Brian's, but still has Finn's slight Irish accent. You take off the shoes, not knowing what the consequences will be for not finishing the transformation immediately but taking the risk anyway, and walk out. You're still in the socks and Brian's clothes, which now fit right. You look in the mirror on the way out, and you still have Finn's ears, nose, and some freckles, albeit the freckles have faded. Your skin also isn't as tan as Brian's, but is darker than Finn's, and your hair is a red-brown. Your eyes are hazel. You look a lot like Hugh, who also goes to the school, and is a cousin of both Finn and Brian, although Finn and Brian aren't related. You decide to call yourself Hugh to Mr Giang if he asks, because he won't know any different and certainly won't mention it. You walk to Adam's shoulder.
"Where is PE teachers' office?" Mr Giang asks, and you point to where it is. "Thanks," he says, and he walks over to it. He collects a few papers and walks out, leaving you alone with Adam.
Adam turns to you. "That was risky, man. You don't know what that could've done.
