Mary picked up the vial with two faces on it, one human, one wolf. She figured the vial was rather easy to handle, since werewolves supposedly changed back and forth... Just to be safe though, she brought the Human vial with her to handle any unexpected situations with her change.
But in all her excitement, she forgot to test if the vials actually worked. As she arrived in class, her papers and vials prepared, she smiled to hide how nervous she was. Once attendance was over, the teacher then opened with an offer to finish off what presentations hadn't been finished yesterday. Mary was the first to volunteer her presentation.
"I'm ready Miss Ethel!" she said excitedly, but also nervous that her selection would go wrong...
"Very well. I believe you chose Transformation? I'm curious to see what you have to show us." the teacher said with a patient smile. Mary nodded and took a breath as she began to rattle through the speech she had written.
"Transformation can come in many forms, from scientific processes to mythical shapeshifting found in Werewolves of legend. Today, I will present you with the latter. I... I have to warn you, I haven't exactly tested it yet... so I brought a fail-safe." She set the Human vial on the teacher's desk. "This vial should change me back if anything goes wrong. I'll trust Miss Ethel to it. As for the other one..." she held the Werewolf Vial at the ready. "This one should alter my genes and body and turn me into a Werewolf."
Immediately, the class began murmuring, and watching in anticipation. Miss Ethel gave a thought out reply. "Mary, this is dangerous. Are you sure you want to go through with this?" she asked.
"Of course. I even brought a safety measure, in case I try to attack anyone." she said, before uncapping the vial. Without another word, she gulped in down. Everyone went silent and stared.
