Your job couldn't be more mundane and dull. You were in the inane and insane world of middle management retail of consumer electronics. Looking around at the other middle man drones, you couldn't help but think you'd be doing them a favor making them part of your latex army.
Dylan and Ryan meanwhile, back at the house, had wandered from the rest of the pack, including their former parents. The two child latex creatures had taken as children would to exploring their new home. Feeling no emotional attachment to their former lives, only feeling the wonder of their new existence. Their creator had told them to try and find creatures and humans to convert into more of their kind as long as they didn't expose themselves or get caught.
The twins (for that was what they were now, given they had been 'born' at the same time now, even if they were fraternal twins), had check out the neglected basement, and had found a mouse. The two latex creatures had squeaked at each other, excited at maybe if they changed the mouse, it would magically become intelligent, large, and humanoid, and they would have a new playmate.
Dylan and Ryan, having less body mass, had completed their full transformations early, and were now completely latex within and without, with nothing human underneath remaining. So Dylan willed himself into a puddle of green rubber goo, and Ryan placed the mouse inside Dylan... the mouse shrieked and twisted, and... its mutated flesh melted off its bones, leaving a skeleton, and the latex that had made up its body dissolved into nothing.
The latex green chameleon and pink bunny found it disturbing, and intended to report back to the creator when he returned that apparently they couldn't turn animals into intelligent humanoid creatures.
