The foursome started to rummage through the entire apartment. One would have thought that with an apartment so small, finding a lost medallion would have been an easy task. But Tony’s stuff and dirty clothes strewn all over the place turned the task into a formidable quest.
After an hour of searching, Billy kneeled down to look for the medallion under the sofa. He extended his large arm underneath the sofa, in an attempt to feel if there was anything down there. His hand encountered many different empty food wrappers, and some pieces of clothing that actually felt wet to the touch. This made him wince and pull back his arm but just as he was pulling his hand out he felt a cold hard metallic disc brush his hand.
“Guys I think I found it!” boomed Billy as he grabbed the medallion and exhumed it from underneath the couch.
The others gathered around him as he stood up from his crouched position. But the Billy that stood up was not Billy the Cyclops of earlier, as his unnatural mass and features were shifting. The others noticed this.
“Dude you’re changing!” exclaimed Tony.
“But how is that possible? I didn’t touch anything with the medallion!” said Billy as winced in pain as his central large eye was splitting back into two and his unnatural mass and height was dwindling.
